BMW F30 3 Series Reveal on October 14. Engine Lineup and Sales/Production Dates
BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW F30 3 Series Debuts October 14. Engine Lineup and Sales/Production Dates As we've been alluding to, the 2012 F30 3 series will be revealed mid-next month (Friday, October 14 to be exact) via online reveal, and live at a BMW press event. Autobild has posted the engine range that will be available for the F30 at launch, as follows: Gasoline: 316i - 134hp 320i - 181hp 325i - 218hp (likely to come later) 328i - 242hp (2.0L inline 4 cylinder twinpower turbo N20 motor) (US bound) 335i - 302hp (3.0L inline 6 cylinder twinpower turbo) (US bound) Diesel (all turbocharged): 316d - 114hp 318d - 141hp 320d - 181hp *323d likely to come later *335d likely to come later Hybrid: 3.0L gasoline engine + electric motor - 335hp (first spy photos) F30 PRODUCTION SCHEDULE The F30 3-series sedan will begin production in November 2011 (see chart below), shortly after the E90 3-series stops production in October. The F30 2012 Model Year will run until June 2012, upon which point it will switch to the 2013 Model Year. As the schedule below shows, the F30 3-series will come as 328i and 335i models (as noted above). Production will continue at BMW's Munich and Regensburg plants. The South African produced F30 328i (denoted by "SA") begins later, in February 2012. F30 SALES SCHEDULE F30 sales are expected to begin in Europe around the time of its world public premiere at the 2011 Geneva show - in March, 2012. US sales should begin in late Spring of 2012. Usually, production starts just two or three months prior to market launch, but we assume BMW will use the four months' time between production start and market launch to build enough demo cars for their dealerships around the globe. The F30 xi models will go on sale sometime in 3rd quarter of 2012 (from September on). This applies world-wide. BMW USA will build up an inventory of E90 models so they have 3-series sedans to sell during the time between E90 EOP and the F30 market launch. Maybe I missed something but is it going to be the concept reveal or the actual production reveal?

Damn this event is getting close!
Diesel numbers seem wrong though atleast for Europe markets. 16d's have 122 or 134 hp right now, 18d's 144 or 163 I believe. Or are these new and weaker engines? |

If it is true well I am an happy camper since I won't trade mine for a N55! But I am very curious about the hybrid model... might be my next choice if they do it right.

So the new 335i is most likely larger and weighs more but only get's 2 extra hp? They must have some trick up their sleeve, can't be slower than the outgoing e90. Can it?

Interesting!
In Europe, currently the great 320d represents up to 60% of all 3-er sales. Are they seriously dropping this winner at launch for the 316d and 323d?. Very hard to believe.
