Looks like a facelift?
The sides look the same so its just the front and rear that end up looking like a facelift. Pretty mean (not sure if thats what these people want) on the outside and pretty plain on the inside. The red stripes in the interior look super cheap (like mazda 3-esque). Slight update really... the turbo 4 and hybrid are the real stories.

Love the car... just dont like the headlights connecting to the grill inserts... something just looks ackward about that to me IMO. Also what is with the hood line above the Roundel?!?! Couldnt they have incorporated it to lift up above the headlights, as it does on the e92..... Dont know if I will upgrade to this model.. its really going to have to impress in person.

am I the only one?
One of the most interesting aspects to me is the Bigger but Lighter engineering feat by the BMW engineers. This new model is bigger in almost every dimension but is lighter than the outgoing model (depending on engine chosen). That's a pretty damn cool accomplishment.
As far as the looks - I prefer the 2009-2011 E90 on the outside. That right there is the perfect 3 series sedan look to me. This new model has some quirky exterior features and proportions. I'm not sure they should have tried to squash the new 5 series down into the 3 series nose/bumper section. It seems a little off but I like the aggressiveness of the grille and lights. The live pics look great though overall. |

Side profile looks like e90. The slope of the nose is special - need to get used too. M Sport looks ok. Overall not wowed - but might grow on me. Same happend with 5 series. Especiall the M5 looks great. Maybe the M3 makes this one better.
Honestly disapointing.

M-sport looks nice to me.
Btw, does anyone know what they mean by "rear-wheel drive, and will include an electronically actuated limited-slip differential (activated by turning stability control off)." Will they really be offering a LSD? If so, it only works with Stability off? |

Front bumper area looks pretty ugly, even with the m sport.
Interior looks sharp, just like the 5. I'm also impressed they made the car lighter. Can't wait to see the M3. |

F32 M-Sport will be sick after seeing the F30. I can only imagine how gorgeous the M3 will be. My lease ends right when it should be released
That being said, the interior of the M-Sport is atrocious. It looks like something from a Kia or Scion. |

I echo others - the E90 to F30 is what E36 was to E46. A smooth evolution of the predecessor.

I guess I am against the majority, but I think the front of the car is FUGLY! I dont like the direction BMW has taken with it's headlights and lower fascias!
