ZHP shift knob!! They have finally admitted it. Still hate the way this car looks. I'm sure LCI will bring welcome changes but that hood line is far too Z4ish for me. Looks like it belongs on a roadster.

I have the same question. When I drive my wife's X3 I hate the fact that the volume is on the right side of the wheel. Since I'm used to driving a manual (my 128), it sucks to control the volume with my right hand. I guess someone thought the stalk for cruise control wasn't a good solution. I like the layout in my car better than this.

It's an amazing car...
There is a funny thing, I'm the guy in the back that is on the phone.... I was 5 days there.... It's strange to recognize himself on a picture like this one ! Last edited by q96; 01-15-2012 at 04:51 PM.. |

I think it has more of a manatee look in the front. I couldn't put my finger on it. Then I googled "manatee" and sure enough, the designer got his inspiration from this animal.
When the E90/E92 M3 came out, I saw it and thought they nailed the design. When I sat in the car, the cockpit made sense. When I drove the car, I knew I was buying it that weekend. I look at this car and I can't help but think I would REALLY need some convincing that the revamp is a good one. On a positive note, BMW should be happy that so many forum members are liking what they see. On to the interior - on the steering wheel, the volume controls, the up/down buttons and the M button were perfect for usability when driving. You could focus on the car and road while easily turning on/off M settings and adjusting your tunes on the occasion that you wanted music instead of engine roar and road feedback. This new steering wheel looks too busy for my taste. Anyone else? Lastly, the hot keys on the dash were so easy to access when driving the E92 M3 - now they look to be placed so that you have to take your eyes off the road. This is a huge complaint (1 of 1,000) in my poorly designed commuter Prius cockpit. I don't understand why they would do this. Anyone? |

Jeez, the rear end of this car is hopeless, and doesnt gel with the front end!
The surfacing and detail is really slabsided at the rear imho. A step backwards from the E90 Lci |

I don't see where you can add the M-Sport package when building this car on BMW's website. Only, sportline, modern and luxury.

Just sat in the M-sport on the Brussels auto show this morning. You guys really miss out on a stunning alcantara interior. IRL it's really beautiful and the blue honeycomb accents are way less obtrusive (and blue) then it looks in the press photo's. Really nice!
Unfortunately the camera I brought with me turns out to be worse then my iPhone so the pictures aren't worth uploading. Howow Last edited by Howowcanigo; 01-20-2012 at 11:46 AM.. |
