E46 coupe still the most handsome of all the 3-series coupes.
E21 and E30 2dr are actually sedans, but that doesn't matter. |

I feel like Mercedes did this back in the 80s, but now each evolution of their model lines are so dramatic.

E36 is timeless and it was the most revolutionary change in big step compared to previous model (the E30). No new 3 series made such a step forward and such a difference, actually in many cases now it is confusing to distinguish as the new model looks more dated than previous.

That's what i told myself too when it first came out....
but years later by the E90 coming out, i look back and saw the E36 as the breakthrough in design, which allowed such beauties as the E46 and soon the F32... So in a way, the E36 is an absolute stunner and now timeless beauty ! You'll have to train your eye to see its beauty, it's like wine tasting, or cheese appreciation... it takes time, but once you see it Of course what would be the E36 without the E30 and E21 ! The E21 was the car that made me fall in love with BMW ! This lineage of car is so beautiful ! So much passion !

They have pretty same kind cars and of course because they are 3er Bmw. All these have engine on middle of front axel, you sit middle of car, straigth six engine is option, manual gearbox, no electric handbreak, weight distribution is allmost 50/50, all share same Hoffmeister kink on back glass and of course front bumber shark face look and all these have same like curve on sideline and bonnet.
