I think I'm on the right track. Have found an 120dx (car mag reviews came out in December), a Z4 1.8i (MY2014 intro), a 320i ED auto (currently manual only), 118dx (3- and 5-door, not yet announced).
The game of BMW Battleship continues. Last edited by ynguldyn; 01-31-2013 at 10:17 PM.. |

BMW has plenty of time to come up with a new engine. Although, what new technologies are out there? Direct injection, VVT, turbos, superchargers, hemi's are all old now. No longer is it "no replacement for displacement". Everyone is focusing on fuel efficient engines with moderate power. The performance cars are getting some attention still at least. I'll just say I expected no new engine for the 4 series. |

Here's an interesting one: it looks like BMW built a bunch of F20 135i in various versions. Not the M135i with the 315hp engine - the regular 300hp N55. They remained purely test vehicles, didn't even receive a model designation ("NIE PROD" is listed where it would normally be).

Frankly, I'm surprised by the childish demands from so many people on this forum. Introducing new cars with old engines is the standard procedure for BMW. Why do you all act so surprised and upset by that?

sorry, there's only 1 V8 NA BMW in a compact car lineup, E9X M3
It will go down from now on, 6 cylinder turbo, and who knows, 4 cylinder with even more turbos in the future lol

However what I think people are really hoping for (at least myself), is that Bmw builds a new engine based on N54 but reliable and more power out of the box. As far as N55 engine, I do not think people care about it that much, they need the new N54 sensation back.

This explains why people are doubting or fussing about the info. Its already been mentioned that there is a new I6 coming: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y76uj-JdchY And historically the coupe has been released with a new engine. The expectation has been the new 4 would have the new I6. |

Forget the V8 guys... it's OVER. Get your E92 M3s before they finish production.
IMO the M4 will compete with the RS5 and C63amg coupe of the future.. but THEY'RE the ones that'll have the traditional monster engines that'll make your ears think they died and went to heaven. I'm someone that got into the market in 09 and got myself a 328xi and couldn't wait to drive a V8 since last year... now I know BMW won't be making it anymore for the 3-series platform... Basically BMW screwed me... Now for my next car, imma be driving an outdated E92 model OR simply something other than a BMW.. it really sucks to be honnest... |

Well, it's getting closer. Do these hit the streets this spring, or later?
