Sway bar bushing ??
Hi guys, I have clunky noise from front suspension so replaced track rods and drop links. But noise still there when going through speed bumps or drain covers/potholes.
Spoke to mechanic today and he said that I should replays also sway bar bushes. So I try to order power flex one but not sure what diameter is my sway bar ...does anyone know? My f32 is 430d rear wheel drive. Would appreciate any help . |

I would be 100% sure the bushes are damaged before attempting to replace them as just getting to them is a HUGE job due to needing to drop the subframe. Easiest way to check would be to disconnect the sway bar from the endlinks/struts and see if you can wiggle the bar to create noise (while the front of the car is in the air).
If you do need to replace them, well you can see my video below on what's required. It won't be a cheap job. Quote:

Sure, if the body roll is the only problem. However, I experience too weak shocks/loose springs with Xdrive and then there's only one way to fix that. For us X-drivers it's good to remember that stiffening the front end calls for understeering. But maybe H&R sway bar hits just the sweet spot...?
