Rim repair options
I'll be selling my 3 series in the next few weeks and I'm trying to decide what type of rim repair would I need to go with. I've got quotes from both mobile and factory repairers. The rim damage isn't huge, just more of gutter rash.
Base on my research, mobile repairs are more of touch up and paint where as the factory ones are more comprehensive? Cost wise for 3 rims, mobile quoted $330 and factory (machine face repair) is $750. Thoughts? Last edited by Monkeyboxers; 03-01-2021 at 06:40 PM.. |

Are you selling your car privately. Price it high then when the buyer want a discount on wheel repair give him some, so you win no matter what.
If this is a trade in at the dealer, you might go get it fixed. Touch up repair from the mobile repair depend on how good their job is. Remember that include tire dismount and remount, so $330 is not that bad. Usually $80 if you bring your wheel without tires. Factory repair....too expensive and you might have to remove the tire yourself and be out of the car for more days. |
