Is it possible to clear check engine codes with Esys / an ENET cable?

Can someone read this results file (or point me in the right direction so I can read it myself) from Tool32 and tell me what the CEL is on for?

I had to remove the 2TB a few weeks ago so the dealership could update my car for a AC freezing issue. The update went fine and removed all of the other coding, but now my CEL is coming on. I used esys to remove it about a week ago, but it came back the same day.

I just don't want to recode it if I have to take it back to the dealership so soon.

Ahh thanks. SHAWN. is there a way to use esys to read the code and figure out what the problem is? I followed your instructions to clear it using external apps and transmit. I see theres an option to read codes but don't understand what comes up when I connect and send.

No. If you want meaningful diagnosis in English, you need ISTA/D (Rheingold).

FWIW, I got ISTA/D (BMW NEXT ISTA/D 3.48.20 + ISTA/P 55.0.300).. what a huge difference and I recommend most people jump right to ISTA if they are troubleshooting, it not only gave me the fault codes in a nice tree diagram for each ecu, but it took me right into the problem, calculated a test plan with linked trouble shooting images and wiring schematics. Traced it back to a loose harness and blown fuse a few minutes later. The tests are all labelled in english and you can toggle indicator lights, switches, read off sensor values real-time, etc. After software like e-sys and tool32, I didn't expect BMW had something almost apple-like to use

Only thing is the installation takes over an hour with over 20+ steps, but it was definitely worth it.

So I did a big no no lol last night when coding I accidentally clicked "code" on the entire ECU tree let's just say 3min later (1 fault and 7 CEL messages stability, ABS, Fuel you name it )I was in a total panic. I didn't change anything in the VO but the engine was running and I corrupted my DME ... Fast forward 30 min (3 quarts of sweat, tears, and pulled hair) I'm frantically messaging Shawnsheridan, I reloaded the DME the errors went away and the car is back to normal! My 2 things I want to say.

1. Shawn I owe you

2. Any idea if I messed up any thing else or re wrote something I wasn't ?

Just a quick update. I couldn't figure out how to get ISTA/D so I went to Auto Zone and they read the code for me for free. Only took a couple minutes.

Turns out it was the thermostat that failed, and I know there's another thread for that common issue. Went to BMW they scanned my key and told me there is no recall or service bulletin for the thermostat, but they replaced it under my extended warranty. My gas mileage has improved and the car runs better now.

Good thing I had it checked because my temp gauge was showing normal temp, but the thermostat was sending a false signal, who knows what temp the engine was really running at. I gained about 5 to 8 mpg after having the thermostat replaced.

Which version is best for F31 2016 rheingold 3.52.32 or 3.42.10
