New 435i owner. I NEED MOD SUGGESTIONS!!!

Sup guys,

I bought a stock 2015 435i about 3 months ago. M sport all black. FINALLY got my license plates after 3 damn months and cant wait to mod both externally and power wise. I do live on cali so no 93 octane here. I'm willing to spend money on this car, but not going crazy, somewhere around 3k-4k range to begin with but do suggest all options so i can look into them.

1) EXHAUST: should i get MPE or some other brands like remus etc? I want to get some burbles poppin up in this bitch. Was thinking about getting catless downpipes but apparently i wont pass a smog test with those.

2) TUNE: even bother with tunes like jb4 or bm3?, as i said i live in cali so we don't have 93 octane here. But also it does improve power some what and the cracks and burbles so IDK. And if yes, which one should i buy.

3) WHEELS: I want to black out my car with some black wheels, but cant figure out which brand. I really liked the hre ff01s but damn they are kinda expensive to begin with lol. Dont want to plasti dip my wheels either so let me know what suggestions you guys have.

4) Spoiler and front lip: Again, should i buy from BMW or are there some good brands that look just as good if not better?

Additionally im thinking of getting injen intake, and color my brake calipers if not new colored ones.

Exhaust yes. Anything that sounds good to YOU is what you should get. But to answer your question no one thinks MPE sounds bad. Not loud enough for me personally but it has a very nice sound.

You can run stage 1 I believe on 91 fuel without much issues. They don't provide insane power gains that 91 fuel couldn't handle. Going catless will help but you 100% will not pass inspection without them. If you're tying to squeeze power out without turning the boost up too much then go with bolt one. Charge pipes almost necessary btw so change that as it will break even on stock boost.

Wheels I mean yeah if you think you'd like them go for it. Find a set you like.

Front lips and spoilers there's tons of info out there in which company to use. Bmws oem trunk lips are nice. I don't like going too far from oem when it comes to trunk spoilers.

Additionally, I'd recommend lowering it and spacing the wheels. Gives it a much more aggressive stance.
Tinted windows are a nice touch. Perhaps accent with another color like red for example the brake calipers and V brace behind the kidney grill.

Have fun with it

Nice buy!
  1. Speaking from experience, catless DP and AWE catback will give you plenty of pops and burble. Without a tune you will get AK47 level pops when revving, plenty of burble during hard upshifts and crackling burble on downshift. IMO worth running if you want the sound and just put stock cat back on for inspection. I'm far from CA but heard...maybe...there is a way to get tested and pass anyway
  2. FMIC, you'll notice a difference and wont get heat soak.
  3. Since it's cheap, high quality, and helps hold boost...GFB DV+
  4. Chargepipe.
  5. Wheels will take half your budget, I'd wait if performance is ahead of looks.
  6. Tint, yeah especially on black and smoked front reflectors.
  7. 10mm front and 12mm rear wheel spacers. Will not be obvious but you'll be shocked at the difference in looks.

Definitely start the project with a good charge pipe, such as Evolution Racewerks.

Find a flash tuner for n55. Add boost. Be happy.

for exterior i personally suggest OEM. i have the m-performance diffuser, and spoiler on my car and i love it the diffuser to me makes a huge difference.

exhaust work and additional power im going with active autowerke i had it on my e92 335i so im going with that.

people always said you can go eBay for diffuser and spoiler but to me especially with the diffuser i can tell the difference and fitment isn't spot on always.

enjoy the car i love mine!

You won't pass smog in California with any aftermarket downpipe, even with the Fabspeed which uses the HJS cat, since none of them are CARB compliant.

Primary factory is price and smell since CEL can be removed by the tune. I personally don't like the idea of even having a CEL in my DME so I sprung for the Fabspeed HFC with the guaranteed no CEL. CG Precision seems to be another solid option for HFC downpipes.

BM3 and MHD are the popular tunes right now. I live in CA, and have MHD. Definitely worth it. There's always a debate on which is better but I'm fine with what I have. Power gain is definitely noticeable.

Tune Jb4, Active or Bootmod3. It all depends on what features are the most important to you
