Winter tire set

I currently have summers on staggered setup
With oem run flats



What is the best setup for winter tires . One of my friends told me to go 225/45/18 and square .

I have 225/45/18 and GoodYear g1.. Best combination ever.. Plus xDrive..
Big recommendation for this tyre.

Narrower is always better so 195
