Tires size for 624M
Hi,
what is the widest tires size I can put on OEM 624M wheels? Currently I have 225/35/20 ET36 and 255/30/20 ET47 and want to replace it with Continental DWS06 245/35/20 Front and 275/30/20 Rear. Would this setup work? Thanks! |

No, 275 is too wide for the rear 8.5" wheels.
245 front and 255 rear is the widest recommendation, but only works with RWD. 35-profile tires (245/35-20 and 255/35-20) or 30-profile tires (245/30-20 and 255/30-20). |

Thanks, guess I will need to find different all season tires or buy a new set of rims.

Increasing tyre profile on 20" rims - 624m's
Quote:
Good afternoon, Just to double check, I have 20" rims (8" on front 8.5" on rear). Presently with runflats (which I hate). However I wanted to confirm the options for tyres i can put on without causing problems for my F36. Are they as follows: Front: 225/40 r20 or 245/35/r20 or 235/35/r20 Rear: 255/35 r20 Presently running: Front: 225/35/r20 Rear: 255/30/r20 Will a difference in height between the front and rear cause problems for Traction control, ABS etc? What is an acceptable differential in height between front and rear? 225/40 r20 (front) and 255/35 r20 (rear) seem like a similar side wall height but: 1. Will these fit the wheel arches ok? 2. Will they cause any electronic or mechanical problems for my car? Many thanks Sam Last edited by sammoorman; 10-13-2021 at 10:42 AM.. |

- 225/35/20 + 255/30/20 (obviously) - 235/35/20 + 265/30/20 (more sidewall, more grip, the rear tires will bulge a bit) With your current 8-8.5" wheels, you shouldn't go wider. No, not all. |

I use 225/35/20 (26.2") and 265/30/20 (26.3"). The Michelin Pilot 4s in the 255/30/20 (26") size would stretch on the rear and I didn't like that. The 265 width is more square and better resembles how the 225's look on the front. In my opinion, go with 265 in the rear. Keep in mind different tire models and different brands will fit different.
