GVB DV+ issue

After chasing a boost leak for about a month. I took my car to have pressure tested and we found the gfb dv+ bleeding pressure like crazy. We tested it at 25psi. Has anyone else have this issue? The dv would only bleed at high boost. I went ahead and ordered the turbosmart dual bov.

I have the DV+ and can't say I've had any issues. there was a youtube video out there when I was doing my research on how to tell if you ordered a real one or a knock off, because they are out there, that's why I ordered from GFB directly on that purchase. and some stuff can just be defective, who knows..

Great choice! My Turbosmart BOV has been awesome! Great video about the installation at Kies Motorsport.

After researching I feel like its a way better product. The gfb uses stock parts where this one is all one unit.

Comparison photo during my installation. (I got the quieter Plumb Back model but installation is identical)

if the turbosmart was out when I did my stuff, I probably would have went that route too. GL and hope it solves your issue!

I have the DV+ and have not had any problems so far

Thought about going to the TurboSmart but install on my AWD was PITA the 1st time & I'm not sure I'm fond of the TurboSmart using their own solenoid (which is listed/available as a replaceable part)

Haven't ever heard of OEM solenoid failing (which is retained with the DV+) so again, not looking to have to replace it if the TS solenoid is not as robust as OEM...

When I spoke to Cary Jordan B4 he did my BM3 custom tune he stated that most everyone has been using the DV+ without any problems

Now I may put a TS on my wife MBenz since the install is super EZ with it being located up on top of the engine with plenty of access (about a 10min job)

FYI- The Turbosmart Dual Port vents to the atmosphere. That creates the whoosh sound. The remainder goes to the intake like the Turbosmart Plumb Back model

I honestly think that I forgot to oil it up and thats why I am having issues. I have read on other non bmw forums that they have had this issue if not oiled up. And some say that have to take it out every so often to oil it up.

WHAT?! Take it out to lubricate it? That can't be serious.

Looks like it's only affected with AUDI and VW.

I haven't seen any issues with BMW, have you?

Never heard of having to re-oil with BMW, but I agree if that were tru then

I oiled mine upon install, got way more than 5k miles on it with no problems...

knock on wood

It's a shame that it is getting so difficult to find ways to spend more money on our cars! 😀

Same here, have had my PS2 and GFB DV+ for over a year and about 10k miles.

Crossing my fingers no issues and I'm in the process of getting my custom tune dialed in!!
