Wink TPMS - Malfunction Aftermarket Wheels

My wife purchased a used 2016 320i with 17 wheels. A surprisingly nice car but poor wheels and grip on those all-season run flats. I had a set of 18 M3 replica wheels on performance summer tires (non run flat) after installation the difference was night and day!

I was about to reset the tires via iDrive, but on at least ten attempts we would only get as,far as 49% and it would fail. I did some research to find out that the TPMS sensors use batteries in each wheel. I had the wheels for about 2 years, and then it was in storage for about 4 years when we upgraded to an X5. Flash forward to now 6 years later the sensors fail.

* Stupid question, are the batteries replaceable (if not they should be)?
* If I replace them, more than likely I should do them all at the same time?

Im pretty sure I need to get 433Mhz sensors, do you have any good tips on best affordable sensors.

Thanks!

Batteries are not replaceable. Replace all 4 so you will not have to worry about them.

You have had them programmed to your car in the past?

No, I never had these wheels programmed to this car. It was programmed to a 2012 330i previously. I had no issues and it seems that it wants to communicate with the current 320i but stops at 49% leading me to conclude that it either a faulty battery/sensor.

I'm trying to reprogram it through iDrive. The wheels were stored in my Garage and not subject to any damage or shock.

Buy new tpms sensors. I think the frequency changeover was 2014.

Good to know, I will likely place new sensors when I get the tires replaced. I think the tires will be good for at least a year.

Doesn't make sense to take off tires, insert sensors and then reinstall. I will likely need to rebalance the wheels again, correct? If that is the case I will just wait.

My wife will have to check the tire pressure the old school way
