*** Please note, this Vehicle is for Export outside the EU Only ***

Have come across with these cheap cars nowadays on Autotrader . (Land Rover, Jag etc )
They are much cheaper than list prices. Does somebody know if these car could be registered in the UK ? Or EU ..

I would guess they are Euro5 emissions (or less) so cannot be sold in Europe now.
Not sure if you could re-import them.

Just read the ad. The reason they cannot be sold is the EU4 rating

I really like this car though.

But why do they advertise here? Probably cause some people would take them out from the EU to Turkey, arabic states etc..

I may send them an email . On Landrover.co.uk you can buy the same modell, 3.0 SDV6 , 255 HP . They may refined engine or exhaust but still the same engine.

What about this Jag ?? Still not EU5??
Dont think so.. Must be another reason .

Just a quick thought

Are you sure it's for real and not a scam. Had it on Pistonheads when was selling my 320d sport where you get an email from an interested buyer asking why your car was being advertised at several k less and a link to click on. The link required your log in details which were then used to hijack your advert and reduce the price and contact details on your car with the buyer being robbed when they turned up cash in hand to buy a cheap car.

Didn't work on me as I forgot my log in details !!!!!!

I have driven loads of foreign stuff over here, however that was either work related or friends visiting.

Living here I drive a RHD car with mph.

When I lived in Germany I drove (mainly) LHD with KMH.

Same as when I talked to the locals there, used KMH and metric.

I tend to respect the country I am in (up to a point) and use their system etc.

That means I expect the same of people over here.

It's weird that you have lived in Germany and now you talk like this .

So you are saying that I can only respect the country I live in if I use MPH instead KMH and pounds not kg. Are you serious ??

I can't even call you conservative cause this is something else.. Anyway , let's move on before you make more people laugh here.

And I might be the first person 'on the world' (in your eyes) who intends to use a car in the UK and also in Europe..

(And a small comment at the end : have never said that I dont use/like mph however this was a car with KMH )

Finished this conversation here.

Apart from the emissions it could be used here. Easy to change the speedo, hard to change the engine!!!

LHD is not handy for overtaking when we drive on the left either. It would be a great car to have if you could just have it on your private estate and not actually need to register it for tax on public roads. Then again if you have an estate you could afford to buy the new model!

Being on the 'wrong side' of the car is ok for overtaking if you hang back a bit so you a better view of the road ahead. The real pain is if you're on your own and you get to a motorway toll booth or car park barrier on the wrong side of the car.

+1
Brigand basically said that he can empathise with people in the place he lives in so will happily talk to locals in terms of their commonly used measuring units. And, to say end of conversation on a forum is somewhat counterintuitive unless someone has said anything unambiguously stupid, which Brigand had not.

By the same token, I speak to my aussie mates* in terms of NM amd Kw for torque and power not lb ft and bhp.
*I might also mention the conversion factor between English and Australian runs in th ashes but that conversion is quite random ☺

Agreed, Brigand was only saying he prefers to use what is required in the country he is living in for a lengthy period.

You can by that Land Rover, you can use it in which ever country you like, you just register it in the UK as a new vehicle as it doesn't meet the criteria set out.

The only thing you all overlooked guys whilst you support Brigand's opinion , that I have not ever said that I don't use or don't like mph .

But this is just a forum and like on all internet forums communication can be broken sometimes, misunderstood etc..

Maybe if you all knew the fact that I would maybe use this car out of the UK as well you would except my point of view , logic etc.

Anyway enjoy yourBimers and the rest of the weekend.

To be fair to the OP he merely asked for info and as with all forums you get opinions and views too, whether you like it or not or ask for it

Brigand initially gave an opinion based on fish ?
And also that he "expects others to do the same"

OP - you have a good weekend too.
