I'd say yours is not linked to the OP's: different engine types, yours has EGR, etc.

Thanks for offering your help man. When you say you're near-ish, what do you mean? Because I live in Guatemala (Central America) hehe.

For those who have been kind enough to try and assist and suggest, here's an update:
A BMW mechanic (not from de stealership) found that my oil has water-ish color so he said I need to replace the oil heat exchanger and its corresponding gasket because that "could be" the reason I'm getting this sputtering. This parts had been ordered from ECS Tuning (still waiting for them to arrive): https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/11428585624/ https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/11428591462/ I'm not an expert so I'm giving this theory a chance. Will let you know the outcome once they get replaced. And, I've also ordered a brand new wastegate (still pending for arrival) https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...r/11657850453/ Wish me luck

Thank you for the suggestion, but I won't be able to do that as I don't live in the USA.

I'm kinda late to this thread, but did you solve your issue? I have the exact symptom like yours (no CEL), can't figure it out what the issue is for several weeks. I don't have issue with acceleration but only when I release the gas pedal let say at 55 mph and let the car run by itself until rpm drops to 1000 from 2500-3000 then I feel a sensation of pulsation/hesitation/engine surge and rpm needle bounces up and down couple times and eventually it settles down at a proper idle (only see this behavior at 1000 rpm and my car is completely stock except replacing the oil cooler with Mosselman). I replaced plugs, coils, clean MAF, MAPs, and swapped solenoids and also replaced one of the MAP with a new one, but nothing changes (may be it helps a bit, but the symptom still exists). It's a very annoying experience and it just starts this weird behavior a few months ago. Btw, I'm planning to bring my car to the shop next week and hopefully will find out the root cause. Thanks. Hello Ryan
Have you manged to resolve the issue . I have the very same problem with my BMW 3201 2013 model. The problem only appears in comfort mode and between 1.5 to 2 k revs. In sport model there's no.issue . |

One person mentioned the PCV - BMW put out an extended warranty on this part for the B58
PCV is a common issue with these engines - worth a shot if BMW will replace it for free |
