Should I replace these rotors?
I’m due to replace the pads.
Ideally I want to replace the rotors in summer so they don’t rust during the winter and all the salt. They have a small groove on them… |

What do they measure? They look fine to me if they are above min spec and not warped.
If you’re going to replace them in summer, you’ll want new pads then also. So either wait for both (if you can) or do both now if it needs rotors. Or just do pads and wait until next time to do rotors. |

What groove? The one near the outer edge? The pad doesn't contact the rotor there, so it doesn't matter. Rotors rust from rain. They're cast iron, that's what cast iron does. They don't seriously rust where the pad makes contact, which is what matters. Some surface rust will form there after a rain or snow, but it gets wiped right off by the pads within a hundred feet or less of driving.

No, the grooves are where the pads make contact - see pic. It is very light
The rust i was reffering to is absolutly for esthetics. I though of getting the cheapest pads to pass the winter... thats like 50$ and in summer i'll do full high performance rotors, cermic pads and paint my calipers. |
