The correct I-Step Shipment is one where the ECU being flashed has HWEL in svt_soll that is Black, not Red / Blue.

So after you calculate SVT Target (SVT_soll), check the box that says "HW-IDs from SVTactual" and then Save it. If HWEL is Black only, no Red / Blue HWEL, then you can proceed to flash it.

I believe my NBT VO Coding is locked too. When trying to Coding -> HU_NBT -> Code , I'm getting the "description: Service WDBI_PLAIN returned a negative response with response code requestOutOfRange; LinkName: HU_NBT_63_ETHERNET" error.

I'm coding in an E-Sys 3.30.1 with v4.39.20_PSdZData Lite.

Car is 2015 M3. Originally delivered to Korea, imported to the US via military personnel. I know there was some dealer records of changes on HU_NBT to update system location from Korea -> USA.

Can you share how I can unlock the HU_NBT?

Hi, i have the same problem with VO lock. i tried to inject CAFD and VO code head unit without success.

Connect => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read (ECU) => Left-Click on desired ECU => Click on "Detect CAF for SWE" => Select the CAFD from latest I-Level shown (bottom one) => Select OK => Right-Click on ECU (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

Is flashing the CAFD the only other option.

You need a new FI Code for VO Code Unlock. That code does not have it.

Just Run FI with new VO Code Unlock Code, and do not select restore.
