New guy - returning to German cars :)
Good morning all,
Psyched to join, I've been reading for a few weeks here and the forum has really helped me in my purchase. Ordered a 2014 328i M Sport on 5/16 and it's currently sitting in 112 status Model description: 328i Market: USA Type: 3C13 E-Code: F30 Chassis: Limousine Steering: links Doors: 4 Engine: N26 - 2,00l (180kW) Drive: Heckantrieb Transmission: automatisch Body Color: Alpinweiss 3 (300) Upholstery: Sensatec 1/schwarz (KCSW) Production date: 02.06.2014 Assembled in: München Options S1CAA Selection of COP relevant vehicles S2NHA M Sport brakes S2PEA 400M S2TBA Sport automatic transmission S2VBA Tyre pressure control (TPC) S319A Integrated universal remote control P337A M Sports package S3AGA Reversing camera S3DZA Delete extra external lettering S423A Floor mats, velours S430A Interior/outside mirror with auto dip S431A Interior mirror with automatic-dip S459A Seat adjuster, electric, with memory S465A Through-loading system S481A Sports seat S493A Storage compartment package S494A Seat heating driver/passenger S4DXA Accent moldings, blue metallic matt S4MRA Interior strips, aluminum hexagon S508A Park Distance Control (PDC) S521A Rain sensor S522A Xenon Light S524A Adaptive Headlights S534A Automatic air conditioning S563A Light package S575A Supplementary 12V sockets S688A HARMAN/KARDON SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM S693A Preparation BMW satellite radio S697A Area-Code 1 for DVD S6ACA Intelligent emergency call S6AEA TeleServices S6NHA Hands-free with USB interface S6VBA CCC allocation S704A M Sports suspension S710A M leather steering wheel S715A M Aerodynamics package S760A High gloss shadow line S775A Headlining anthracite S840A High speed synchronization $46,300 MSRP, haggled down to almost 8% off ($42,700) Started driving with a 2003 GTI 20th Anniversary, then got a 2002 Audi TT (which ended up getting a big turbo, watermeth, etc.) and have a had a Wrangler ever since. So I'm PSYCHED to be back in a German car with great mileage and boost from the factory. Plans include 8.5" rear factory rims (square setup) and winter tires this October and staggered Apex wheels (using stock staggered tires for time being) next spring. Some exhaust work maybe as well. I'll update with pics when I get the car, hopefully by July 4. This amazing summer weather is really making me antsy. Last edited by munch520; 06-24-2014 at 12:29 PM.. |

Thanks guys. Just so this thread isn't so boring, here's a pic of the TT I mentioned, along with my 328 build (still waiting on a production date, they tell me 'early June'). Not gonna try to hide the fact I love white exteriors

Thanks! I was torn with Nav, moonroof, and a few other comforts but I feel like I put together a car that fit my preferences. |

Thanks!
I know it's early but I'm debating wheel options in my head Let me know what you guys think of this, since BMW wouldn't let me order a square set up even though 400Ms in 8.5" clears the M brakes -car comes with 18 x 8.5 front and 19 x 9.5 rear. To square it up for winter I was thinking of ordering two of the OEM refurb 18 x 8.5 and running Pirelli's or Bridgestone's for winter -come spring I will still have the like new 8.5 and 9.5 wide staggered tires that came with the car... Planning on ordering a set of rims to fit those. I know most guys do 19s but in my experience 18s are easier to find tires for, ride better, and are cheaper than 19s. And they make the brakes look bigger lol. -thinking APEX EC-7 Wheels (Anthracite, 18"x8.5" ET35 Front, 18"x9.5" ET43 Rear) would look nice Last edited by munch520; 05-19-2014 at 06:44 PM.. |

That is a great build...if i could do it over again and have the ability to build my own car instead of picking one off the lot, your options would be the exact way i would have optioned it. In the 5 months of owning the car i have yet to use the navigation even once except to have the map on just to put something on the screen. Same goes for the moonroof..but i do regret not having a car with the xenon lights, the halogens on the f30 is utter garbage. I say you made a great decision on giving up those options in lieu of things like m sport brakes and driver assistance package

It is nice to have and look at though, we've got some BMWs in the family and I've borrowed an M3, X5, 135, 335 over the past couple years and I like to have it. The traffic feature is awesome, but in the end it just didn't make the cut. |

Congrats, and welcome to the forum.
The only thing I'd have added up is the NAV, since it's a must for me. And the only option I envy is the M brakes, but should add later, even if it's mostly cosmetic. As for color, I do also prefer tones to colors, but I go in the darker spectrum (as you can see below). I do have a question on one of your post: Are you sure about this ?

Beautiful! Looks pretty much the same, except the nav?
Currently negotiating with dealer on installing M Performance suspension prior to my pickup of the car. Would be nice to have that out of the way. |

Yes, so your wheels are 18" front and rear, with 8" wide wheels front and 8.5" wide in the back.
You just had typos with 18x8.5F and 19x9.5R Still, nicely optioned.

I have the nav, but I don't have the m breaks or the black kidney grills.

Bringing this back from the dead - picked her up last week! Completely overwhelmed by this car, very impressive on all fronts. MPE was installed yesterday, super easy...don't pay anyone to do it. 35% tint is going on today, will be putting white reflectors on tomorrow, and hopefully getting MPS installed by this weekend. Also, debadged the car, I've always done it and it looks so much cleaner that way IMO.
Here's a crappy cell phone vid of the MPE: On the showroom floor: First wash: Teaching my boy (19 mos) how to wash the car. He's not bad with the hose! Love the brakes, they got a nice bedding on the way home from the dealership (they were smokin!): Interior shot: Exhaust install yesterday:
