Better to take it easy, walk over to a cafe and read Bimmerpost, and stroll back.

By the way, he quoted me $439 (before tax) for the front bumper and the edge of the hood, the part of the car's nose where the roundel is. Does that sound reasonable?
yes, that's very good. I got quoted double that easily numerous times by numerous shops

I washed her after the trip home which was 1100 miles of a 3200 mile trip. From South Dakota to Huntington Beach and around Vegas.
She performed flawlessly with a fresh Airlift 3p install.

I have to say, I was skeptical about air suspension, but after this trip, I'm a believer. I don't think any future car of mine will be without it.

Blower motor stopped working... turns out some critter had decided it made a good place to build a nest.

That's crazy. Hopefully they didn't gnaw on any wiring while in there.

no wiring chewed from what I can tell. I was only gone for a week so I guess they didn't have enough time.

How do you like em so far? I just did the swap to hawk hps pads and loved them at first but now I'm iffy. I'm getting my brakes bled next week to ensure there is no air in the system. The first week of the pads were amazing. After that they feel as if they have lost their grip. Like I said, I may have boiled the fluid so I am getting it flushed to ensure it is not the pads. I also feel as if the wet braking is greatly reduced.

Interesting feedback... I'll have to see... they are super firm, and super grippy, especially after a few minutes when they're hot.

I had my system flushed and put Castrol SRF. These rotors are also brand new so they have only seen the Hawk pads...

I don't have a whole lot of car maintenance experience... but I'm a bike mechanic by day and I always swap rotors and pads together when I change compounds and that makes a huge difference IMO. They seem to bed in and wear together. Who knows though... I'll report back in a week!

Flew it on a different route to work today. (More and more I think of this car as a plane, or a shuttlecraft, or something.)

Taking a different route to work in this town is chancy. Once you find a route that has mostly smooth streets, you want to cling to it like grim death. But I needed to drop off my power bill, and then the shortest way to the bridge is ahead, not back.

So I skimmed down the unpleasant-to-drive two-lane street that leads to the bridge ramp, accelerated away from the light, took the ramp without slowing from 45, and then as I rose up to the main span I thrust my foot down. Wow! I was at 65 in an eyeblink, able to move safely over one lane and then keep the speed on as I climbed to the peak of the bridge.

It may have wasted some gas. You know what? I don't care.
