Question, is this a good buy?

I would like to pose a question to the community! Browsing the inter-webs
came across a 2014 BMW 335i xDrive M Sport posted on a local Buy/Sell website. Thing is it has high miles, over 200,000 KMs and the seller is asking around $17k for it.

I'm aware of most issues found in N55 engines plus I'm not afraid to work on my own car either, currently drive a e90 330xi w/ 257k miles where most of the maintenance was done by myself.

So my question is what would be the best price to offer the seller? or should I avoid it all together considering the kilometres.

Thanks in advance..

Why would you want a high mileage car? Plenty of low/er mileage 2014's available. Even 2013's.

For comparison, the best deal I have seen recently on a 335i is a 2014 with 60K miles and pretty much every feature including m-sport and BMW surround for $22K. More common deals are slightly worse than that one.

You’re totally right! But my thought process is to score a M Sport for super cheap and the vehicle I described with high miles is a decent prospect. I genuinely enjoy carrying out DIYs on my cars so this 335i would be along those lines as a project piece.

My question is, if I were to approach the seller what would be a appropriate offer?
