Alpine White?
My wife has a 2014 328d wagon in Alpine White. According to everything I can find it's code 300, Alpine White III. I bought some of the genuine BMW touchup and it doesn't match well at all. The new paint is much whiter/brighter than what's on the car. The guides show this is the only white available that year. Any ideas?

Maybe you got Mineral White Pearl, as that was a paint that was available in 2014 as well. That is not a bright white though.
They also made a Brilliant White (Pearl, I think) during that year, although I'm not entirely sure, maybe do a Google search and see what comes up. |

I have a 2015 m235 in Mineral White so I know the difference and it's a lot. The white I got was a very bright white and makes the white on the car look dirty in comparison.

Well, I was just trying to help, I guess you're on your own.
Maybe bring it to a dealer and have them take a look. Is it a dirty car? Is it the wrong paint entirely? Maybe the wrong paint in the touch up bottle? Who knows. |

Sorry, it wasn't my intent to offend. I'm 2 hours from a dealer now but next time I'm going to stop in and ask.

The dealer touchup is pretty rough for matching if I remember correctly.
Believe it or not white is one of the worst colours for sprayers to match, they would rather blend most other colours where as white shows every discolouration imperfection. I managed to get a sort of close match when I needed to rattle can some trims, most stores in the UK sell Hycote and Motip. Motip do all 3 different ages of Alpinweiss, the problem is the older ones have more yellow and green hues added to make the pigment, where as the newer ones use more blues and reds which is what makes it so much whiter and sharper in comparison. I believe in the end I purchased the Alpinweiss III 2003 can as well as the latest version, then I blended them together as they were both slightly out on the opposite colour ends.. I ended up with a pretty good match. Unless you're getting a respray you won't get that good of a match with touch-up unfortunately. The idea is to stop corrosion to the metal you're painting it on, most people misconstrue it for cosmetic reasons. |

Mine is a 2016, paint code is Alpinweiss 300, the touch up kit I got from the dealer matches my paint perfectly

sorry for a late reply, but for 2018 340i I got Dr. Colorchip touch up paint color code 300, Alpine White III. I have used Dr. Colorchip for older cars (more than the 5 years of mine) with fair to good success. any scratch too deep and I needed to just paint it on with a small brush. it is not professional, and can be seen upon close inspection, but overall it will blend the scratch, divot, fairly well. key is to dab on and let dry just a bit, then wipe only once if possible. i found their video helpful:
good luck |

Sounds like there are 3 versions of Alpine White?
Does anyone know the changeover years? I just picked up a 2014 328d wagon just like the OP and I got a small bottle of touch-up paint from the selling dealer. Seemed a little off but a decent match. |
