Anybody try an import of their profile to another car? I exported the profile from my old F30 to USB and imported to the new one with crappy results.

It didn't give me all my Presets, it left Buttons 5, 6, 7, empty, and the seat didn't really move to where it should have been. It did remember all doors unlock, but left the tone when locking/unlocking which I disabled. Also it imported the triple turn signal blink. And the HUD was adjusted the way I tweaked it.

It was better than nothing, but I was very disappointed.

I couldn't even get my profile to export and yes, I used the USB in the glove compartment (and tried the center console USB).

Any tips/hints?

Unplug the USB stick, plug it back ii, and try again. Sometimes it takes several tries before it works.

I did it once with a loaner. I transferred the profile from my MY12 335i to a loaner MY13 328xi.

Presets worked, if I remember. And it did change the clock from 12 to 24 hour mode. But I don't think it transferred some of the more obscure settings, like the button I set show FTM or turn on/off split screen.

Tried that about 15 times. Turned the car off/on. Locked/unlocked, walked away for 10 minutes, tried different USB drives..etc...etc..

Does it usually require more?

No, it usually works on the second try for me.

Does the car just not recognize the USB stick, or does the export just never finish? I've seen it take the car up to 60 seconds after plugging in the stick before it "sees" it and enables the importing/exporting.

Is the USB stick formatted as FAT32? If not, I think it has to be.

I'll try FAT 32. I think it see it, I see the USB drive flashing.
