Hi I was wondering if any one had the wiring diagram for the switch itself to the szl I was able to find the right connecter off a old dei alarm shock sensor that fit perfectly. Or tell me where the 3 PINs go. There all black so hard to tell on the pictures online. https://c1552172.ssl.cf0.rackcdn.com/641972_x800.webp

Well, I am about to give up. I have done all the physical connections. Checked and double checked. Still no heated wheel. I keep getting an error that the cafd dile is not found for the FEM and REM. Kombi codes no problem.

I completed this retrofit today. Had everything I needed save for the button and since the steering wheel I bought online had heat so I figured why the hell not. Thanks for the write up, it definitely helped a ton. Thankfully I didn't run into any coding problems.

Thanks for the write up!

I'm trying to work out if I need a new SZL to do this retrofit or if I'm ok just getting the switch, cowling and a second-hand heated wheel.

roxxor could you take a look at these pics of my wiring and let me know what you think?

Interesting that yours has those wires already run. Do you have any other options such as Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Monitor, etc.? Based on your part number, it shouldn't have those pins as the part number you have is for basic models with only the Rain Sensor option and not anything additional.

For me, the situation is similar. The power cords are there. You have to buy a different SZL, or try to re-plug the wires and you may be able to code it on this SZL. Unfortunately, it did not work for me.

No, no driver assistance options on the car (no LDW, no Blind spot. just rain sensor, no Kafas camera) - in fact I have a really useful coin storage compartment in the dash where the driver assistance switches normally live!

So those two chunky wires I indicated are the wires which would/could power the steering heater?

I wonder if next step is to pop the airbag off and look inside the wheel?
