Good news, for me. I recieved my unit from avin. And this screen works as expected. Colors and alignment is fine. I didnt even have to attach the aux cable so i think they updated their harnasses as well. So i am happy now.

Possibly a silly question but here goes. Really happy with my Avin unit BUT is it possible to mirror Android Auto rather than the EasyConnection app it defaults to?

I want to share a problem thats been happening for the last 3 months. Every single time i get on the car... I need to log in to spotify.

Seriously?

I already gave up with the gps and how slow everything else is.. But now i have to log in every single time. Anyone has a clue as to what could cause it?
The guys from avinusa have ignored my questions.

ok, so i have paid a professional installer to install this unit from AVINUSA.com in my 2007 BMW X5 4.8 and I'm pretty disappointed so far.

I have an iPhone and got the CARPLAY adapter, downloaded the software, plugged it up, but NOTHING ! Can anyone troubleshoot this issue with me? I need step by step...

Carplay:
1) Plug in the Carplay adapter into one of the 2 USB ports
2) Start the carplay app on the android unit. It will say: Waiting to connect
3) Plugin the Iphone with standard apple USB cable into the Carplay adapter and wait some 10 seconds
4) now carplay should appear on the android unit screen


P.S. I downloaded zbox-v4.1.1-Download.zip from zjinnova com for the latest app and the latest firmware.

Today I tried the procedure but nothing, the message continues to appear on the display: connect your phone with the dongle via usb.

Apple carplay add-on... it works!!! But...

When driving after 5-10 minutes it will freeze, when i touch the screen or any button the unit will go into “no signal” and i need to turn the car off/on in order for it to reboot.
If I don’t touch anything it will restart the carplay app after 30sec and will work fine the remainder of my journey.....
I tried different firmware but no solution. I even reinstalled the carplay app but no luck.
It’s not a huge issue but if anyone has a solution?? Or a link to different carplay software? I tried another app but it stretched the entire screen making it look like crap.. lol

when you started the app
press the SETTING button at the top left.
in the next screen there is a button on the bottom left for verification
the version of the app and the firmware and the possibility to update everything.
But it activates a WIFI internet connection to make everything work.
This way, you understand if your dongle needs updates or is updated!
I recommend not installing / UPDATING the app version of the month of April (it's NOT SITTLE)

On May 6 I received a new AutoPlay (CarPlay) app from AVIN support (Version_04252018) as a possible fix for my crackling Siri voice, and a day or two later I updated it in the HU. App update unfortunately didn't fix the crackling Siri voice.

Unfortunately this update created a new problem - now I have the recurring "Allow the app AutoPlay to access the USB device?" prompt pop up on the screen when I start up. I've tapped OK, checked the "use by default" box and then tapped OK. Regardless of what I do, the prompt still comes up every time I start the car (and sometimes multiple times).

When I go into the AutoPlay settings (that is now available through updated app) as described above, it shows my adapter version is "2018.03.06.1845", and a new version is available - "2018.05.04.0952". When I try to update I get a pop-up that states "The box version is too low, please use U disk to upgrade".

Has anyone worked through this issue yet? Any ideas? It sounds like going from 03.06 to 05.04 is too big of a jump to do online. I don't know what U disk is, or how to perform an incremental update to catch it up.

You have to copy the new firmware to a USB KEY (diskU)
and insert the USB KEY drive into the usb dongle and start the CARPLAY app
the update is automatic and takes about two seconds.
