Hi,

I've got a BMW X6 F16 2017 and it didn't come with a touchscreen or ID7. I really want to retrofit this in the car.

I wanted to know the following:
1. Best retrofit products available in the market which will ensure I will have all the normal BMW functions available (use of the normal buttons, offline map etc)
2. I also want to upgrade to ID7 and be able to use the same with the retrofitted touchscreen.
3. Can I fit it as a 'DIY' option, as I am located in a country where I can't really find skilled BMW techs.
4. Has anyone fitted the TOPVIEW camera system on the F16? Any leads for this will also help.

can anyone provide a link to the newest firmware versions?

i cannot get Avin to respond no matter how many messages I send them.

Cannot get the 6.5 fullscreen to work. It complains about a missing cartype.xml on the sdcard, but there has never been an sd card installed.

Also, when I first installed the unit, I had a small button that would allow the screen to be turned off, as in the bottom photo.

Now I have what it looks like in the top photo with no option to turn off the screen.

I have never updated the unit, any ideas?

Someone installed the new unit with android 7.1?

Just installed in my 2015 F30 with the 6.5" original screen.

original BMW system is stuck on a camera view (don't have the option) and my navi wheel doesn't work at all.
In android system, no audio (because I can't switch to aux on bmw side).
My navi wheel doesn't works too, just enter, menu, and back...

Do you know if I need to upgrade firmware or something? Where to find?

Don't go after the latest firmware. Choose the best working version and be happy. New versions have always problems... Stay away. Just a word of caution.

find one that is stable and stick with it. you are trading one problem for another it seems with each version of the firmware.

To help anyone in the same case.

BMW F30 2015.
I opened a case with AVIN for my problem described below :
- No sound
- Original BMW nav doesn't works
- idrive wheel doesn't work

They said it's a problem related to optical fiber not connected, but I don't have any fiber, I have a HU_Entrynav with Magneti Marelli MCU that seem to be installed in 2014+ models.

If someone have this kind of unit, without fiber, and the AVIN system, please share your results.

I come back here when AVIN will answer me.

What exactly is your question?
This unit was new with a lot of starting issues ofwhich many have been resolved.
Top dollar... you think? compare it to replacing the screen with a 10" X5 screen and see what that will cost.
Personally, I didnt expect a 100% faultfree unit since its and aftermarket screen from China and not meant to be a replacement of the original system.
It simply adds things that are missing from the factory in a bigger screen and to me (the Ugode) does this well.
Aftersales from Avin is dreadfull and thats what makes the difference with these unit....

Yes, in the top picture your GUI has not completely loaded. Its hit and miss. If you try it next time and the gui has loaded properly, u will be able to do what u want. There doesn't seem to be a manual way to load the gui, its random i.e. gui loads properly sometimes and sometimes it does not.

I have this Android Unit for my BMW F20. My question is do anybody know if its somehow possible to adjust the day and night brightness of this unit?

They unit automatically dims the display if you switch your headlights on but what i want is to make the day brightness lighter and the night brightness darker.
I have the Display now at 70% brightness but its a bit to bright in the night (even with sygic in night mode) but if i go darker its to dark at day, so i would like to adjust this.

Any idea if its maybe somehow possible?

1. I can't seem to configure the unit to reflect the correct factory system which is resulting in the screen been cut off / unusable on the factory mode. I went into the settings menu using the password 1314 but once I get in there aren't any f30 options, just e60.

2. I'm getting a triangle warning light on the dash. I assume that means that the car is throwing a code?

The correct setting isn't for a f30. I don't remember off hand which one mine is set to but I think it was an F10 or the like. Just try a couple of them.

Your "triangle" shouldn't be from the Avin unit. It will throw a code for the missing display but it will be a hidden code.

The triangle warning is letting you know you need to reset time and date. Once you do that it will go away.

Hello.
Does anyone have a lini to the latest Avin firmware? I have the latest Gen 2 verision with 2 gb ram. No matter how many messages i send to avin support, i cannot get any response:/
