You have HU_ENTRYNAV2, which is a successor to HU_ENTRYNAV. It should be able to be coded for an 8.8" screen, however, I'd first check the coding via eSys and ENET cable.

EDIT: The non-touch 8.8" screen for your head unit should be this one: 65506822626. However, the older models *may* also work, but we haven't tried them with the newer head unit, yet.

Screen Swap then code code:

HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480
HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display

I have a HU_entrynav with 6.5 screen and I´m thinking to change to 8.8.

Where are this codes if using esys?
Do I have to pay 100 euros if I would like to code with Esys? Correct?
Many thanks in advance?

You just need an ENET cable or adapter (ebay example), then just install the software and follow the included guide. If you do it yourself, the cost is just $20 (price of the cable).

Hi

I have Enet cable, not the screen yet.
I don’t know where is those codes:

HU_NBT > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480
HU_NBT > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display

My car is pre-LCI and I have already retrofitted the BMW Integrated Navigation System on my 6,5 screen.
Do you think that a 8,8 screen from an LCI model (part number 65509387453) can be retrofitted to my car or I need to instal the 8,8 screen from pre-LCI model (part number 65509292248)?
Are there significant differences between these two 8,8 screens?
Also the split screen function of the 8,8 screen needs some coding to work or it is automatically set as a menu option as long as the 8,8 screen is installed?
Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Hi Bill, how did you retrofit "Integrated Navigation System on" your 6,5 screen?

If your car has HU_ENTRYNAV (Introduced 7/14) then you can do it.

Basically I’m screwed if I have HU_ENTRY. No work around it? Also how can you tell if you have entrynav or not

No way around it - only by replacing the head unit, which is a hard retrofit to do.

Best way is to check via ENET cable and eSys software. If your car was made after 7/2014, there's a good change you have HU_ENTRYNAV. Some cars (with basic/business nav) have them sooner, from 4/2014).

Just check if you can see and select/change these two values:

HU_ENTRYNAV2 > 3000 HMI > DISPLAY_SIZE_RESOLUTION = 8.8_1280x480
HU_ENTRYNAV2 > 3001 EXBOX > DISPLAY_VARIANTE = breites_display

Good news is it has both available however resolution size only displays "6.5" "7.X", "8.8", and "10.X" witn no resolution behind it.

Well I guess they don't explicitly show the resolution now. What is new is the 7" size.
