BMS oil cap fitment issues

Anybody here had issues with installing the “BMS Billet Oil Filter Cap for B58 BMW & Toyota Engines”
The shop i bought it from have 2 different, some for gen 1 B58 and some for gen 2 B58.

My car is a 2016 340i Xdrive gen 1 B58
It seems that there is fitment issues.
Any idea

Sent an email to the shop to verify they sent me the correct product.
Also asked BMS for the parts numbers for each ones.

I thinking i should have bought the “Paradigm” one like Buru58

I just bought one Going to be installing it in my next oil change in about 2 weeks. I'll tell you if I run into issues. What exactly wasn't fitting?

My mechanic told me it was too long, couldn't put it straight, intake manifold is in the way.

I bought it directly from them about a month. I got a 2016 340i so same as you just that RWD. Yeah for sure I will keep you updated.

Aluminium vs Plastic, i would have break the housing filter easily.
For it to be straight my intake manifold should be an inch or so away.
Maybe my engine bay is the problem.

I appreciate the pictures. Yeah it seems like it will be the same issue for me since the intake manifolds are all the same really. I still haven't tried it myself. If mine doesn't fit then I would need to contact BMS. Will keep you updated.

Ran into same issue today as well. Bought mine directly from bms even double checked that I ordered it for f30 b58. Emailed them today. Still I'm curious about what is the real issue. Maybe someone sleeping on the job shipping supra caps instead of f3x caps.

That could very well be the problem, maybe they are sending out the wrong ones? I mean at this point if the product itself is defective or just not properly made to spec, then technically everyone who bought this from BMS with a Gen 1 should be running into the same issue.

I emailed bms Thursday and they replied yesterday. They seem to understand the issue (since I sent pics as well) but they still like to play 21 questions lol. I hope I get a reply back from them on Monday with an answer/solution.

Please take pictures of both filter cap next to each other.
Different pictures in the engine bay also.
Cause if not working you can send those to BMS.

It didn't work. It's just too long and to force it down and screw it in, I am scared to break the plastic from the bottom housing. Will contact BMS right now, I took one picture, but I did compare both filter housings and the BMS is too long.

The 3 of us are in the boat.
I’m gonna email them.
You should send also in messenger, on their facebook page, on instagram…make public.
They should answer really quickly as it give them a bad rep, at least for that product.

I don't have facebook, but I already sent them a message through email, they typically answer quick, lets see what they say. I don't understand how this passed their testing before release.

BMS is a reputable company for a reason good products and great customer service unlike vrsf. They responded to me today with a resolution. They will be sending me a new cap with a return label to ship the incorrect one.

You should be hearing from them soon and will tell you the same thing. They should just sell the G series caps for all B58 engines instead of having two separate models.

I finally got an answer
“ We are still waiting on revised G- chassis caps to come in. At this point we don't have an update until we receive the updated part to compare.”

So there is hope
