4 series sunroof double click to fully open?
First few posts on the forum with my new ride...I think I've trawled every post so apologies if this has been covered before....but....
I noticed a curious design on the programming of my F32 sunroof. I click the button to slide it open and it opens 3/4 of the way and a further click/slide of the button opens it a little further ie maximum. I also notice the same with the drivers window. On the one-click open it opens 98% of the way and a further click opens it so that it's completely recessed into the door frame. Anyone else noticed this? Is it normal or fixable? Thanks! |

Sunroof is normal.
Not sure I've noticed what you're talking about with the drivers side window. Maybe a "re-learn" for the drivers side window? I've seen that discussed here. Last edited by G30 B58; 05-17-2015 at 07:13 AM.. |

Cool - thanks.
Window is an interesting one. I one-click open it, rest my arm on it and notice the jarring from the glass. It's like it opens 98% of the way - another press and it retracts the last little bit! |

Interesting. My sunroof does the same - never noticed it opened up further, lol.
Window goes all the way down, tho. Quote:

I believe there is very good reason for the 'two' stop positions. I run an F11 wagon with panoramic roof and it has the same feature. I note that at the first stop I can drive at speed without any air buffeting. Opening to the second position is fine for lower speeds, but requires the rear windows to be cracked open (about an inch), to prevent buffeting at higher speeds. HighlandPete |

As far as I'm aware, and I'm not sure if a sunroof is the same as a panoroof, but the panoroof opens to 95% of the way on purpose to prevent wind buffetting when the windows are closed. I read somewhere that it's by design and you need to re press the open button to fully open
