A friend of mine wishes to lease a 335d. Did you get this deal through BMW or through a Lease Company? What sort of deposit was required and how many years is the payment period. Hope I'm not being too nosey.
I got a good discount on top of the money offered directly by BMW which I think is pretty good. The deposit is £3k

Works out £50/m cheaper than the 330d touring I did the deal on last week so very happy.

Dealers have a lot more to play with on the 330d/ 335d in this quarter than they did last quarter

I used to think 4 wheel drive was the best safest option, it's not necessarily , the cars especially Audi's do not handle as well at all, in any conditions.

I had the B7 RS4 and then drove the E90 M3, I switched to the M3, add winter tyres to BMW's and you got a tool.
OK flat out driving in crap weather is a mugs game anyway, and I would not risk any silly stuff to test any of my expensive cars in those conditions.
Top and bottom is : IF you feel safer with it then go for it.
Family safety is paramount to me and probably you also. But don't be fooled into thinking it is a safety barrier cos it aint.

I am still of the opinion that the M Sport 330D will be on a par performance wise with the 335DX, or as near as dam it.
Both cars are probably the best diesels out there for the money.

My view is that the 335d will be very effective at getting the power down but will suffer slightly on poise and feel. I've driven the 640d and loved the engine, however I've also driven the 330d xdrive without adaptive suspension over a 24 hour test drive which I really enjoyed with only the wallow of the suspension being a slight concern. Immediate grip and go from a standstill was staggering.

My answer is a combination of both cars. Hopefully it will make a great all rounder
