First time BMW onwer 335i 2013

Just bought a mineral gray 335i with M package, love the car and performance,
I just wanted some insight from some owners as to what to watch out for as far as repairs, since I'm still under warranty and is it worth to buy extended warranty from BMW or 3rd party. Anyone's input is greatly appreciated

Thank you

I just bought a 2013 ActiveHybrid 3 with 14K miles two weeks ago from Carmax. I bought the extended warranty from them to 100K, which allows me to take it to the dealer if I choose to. Two weeks into ownership and I already took it to the dealer today for a faulty fuel pump. It doesn't sway or worry me, but theres a lot of tech in these cars so any extension would be a good idea IMO. I'm also planning on purchasing a service plan extension from the dealer soon so I don't have to pay for service. A transmission fluid change for the AH3 runs around $500 I've been told, and brake jobs are notoriously expensive, so its worth the money to me. I'd rather not wrench on a car of this complexity myself. My two cents. Congrats on the purchase.

I never knew anything about a service plan that's actually very helpful to know will definitely look into it also. Disomma thanks. Future upgrades considering are M performance exhaust and performance kit along with M performance brakes.

I have a grey 2013 335i as well and I just bought the BMW Gold warranty. I went back and forth between BMW and ExtraCare but BMW is a $50 deductible and it was $3700 whereas the ExtraCare was well over $5000 to get a $50 deductible.

I'm in Kissimmee. I have a white 2013 335i M sport. Serpentine belt broke and got sucked into the engine leaving pieces of the belt inside the engine. My mechanic fished most of them out. Later on the oil pan started leaking and the sub frame needs to be dropped. We found more pieces of the belt while the oil pan was off. These are not common but both happened to me.

If you run JB4, your plastic charge pipe will burst so you need an aftermarket one. Injector noise ticking got a little louder after running e85 for a while.

I was running jb4 map 7 daily with 50% e85 and flex fuel wires, aluminum charge pipes, bms intake and BC racing coils.

I have some pictures of my car on my instagram page you can checkout getbmw coding no spaces. Not sure why the site filter blocks it sometimes.

Behind the harmonic balancer

I replaced the belt and drove around for a few thousand miles trying to figure out the oil leak. With the harmonic balancer installed, you can't see the pieces of the belt wrapped around. I gave up and brought it to my mechanic and he found the leak.
