SOS Call Malfunction and Software update?

Been getting an SOS Call Malfunction light popup out of the blue. When I press the button the call does go through and they can hear me on the other end. Was wondering if anyone has had this experience and whether a software update might fix it?

It's probably a weak emergency call back up battery, due to the cold weather. There have been a number of threads about it here, oddly enough beginning when this last major cold snap hit.

Yep...your telematics control unit needs a new battery. It's just under the sharkfin above the headliner.

Took me an hour to figure out and an hour to do in my '16 340i xD Then I used my Foxwell to clear the codes. Might be able to do with some apps--haven't tried with Bimmercode, but didn't have it then.

Thanks man, could you link me where you purchased the battery from? Can't seem to find it anywhere

Confirm the fitment but this is the part for my 335i. You could also cross reference that BMW part number and search near you or Amazon or something.

Look around for the 'accumulator,' I think I got mine for less, but it took a while to find...I'll look for the original receipt if I have.

I had this like week ago. Visited BMW Dealer and they changed battery under warranty repair. So ur issue seems like a battery issue as guys said.
