Not sure what to make of this?

My son’s primary school have sent their Christmas news letter out.

They have a section with tips to keep parents safe over the festive period!

WTAF?

:

They know me too well!

It would be knives, not scissors in my household.

They've lifted it from RoSPA?

Kids falling from rocking horses? What next - injuries sustained when dressing up as characters from Dickens?!

FFs the western world is obsessed with health and safety ,
I had a mate who used to run a double glazing business and after several visits from safety auditors and the stuff he had to put in place , at a massive cost. he decided to sell off the business as it would no longer be a viable proposition .

eventually we will all be required to wear Kevlar and c/f suits as soon as we get out of our beds !!

sorry for the cynicism but my employers are also obsessed with elf n safety and it gets my goat it really does .

I think they're actually obsessed with no getting sued!

This is the issue they don't really care they just don't want to be sued, so do the minimum and make sure their arses are covered and the insurance valid when does go wrong.

A lot of elf and safety is quite OTT but people still get a lot of it wrong even though its for their own good.
I had a plumber in my house fitting a CH boiler ok he was a bit of a cowboy I later discovered but I had a small child in the house when the noise started and she was putting her hands over her ears and crying because of the noise, on checking with the plumber he was using a Impact chisel to break bricks for the flue (didn't use drill for precise holes) didn't say he was going to do this but he had no ear defenders goggles, didn't warn of the noise so elf and safety didn't exist.
In some instances people don't bother and yes its OTT but in a lot of cases it should be mandatory.
