Downpipe b58

Hi! Just ordered a downpipe for my mppsk 340 and can’t wait to install it. My biggest question now though is the check engine light I’ve heard of. How will I know if I get a problem and will really need to check my engine? Is there an easy way of bypassing this and also what’s the issue that causes the downpipe to activate this light? (ER catless) 😋

Which downpipe do you have? In my order it said it included an o2 bung(?) and had the option to get an extra one for 10 bucks but I didn’t. How does that 90 degree angled o2 spacer work and is it a replacement or an extra part?

o2 bung attaches to the secondary o2 sensor which attaches to the down-pipe. So attach it to the second port on the downpipe which is the last oxygen sensor away from the turbo.

I'm planning on going this route when I install my DP too. I would NEVER have believed it works, but after reading up on it and much to my surprise, it seems to be working for almost everyone. Certainly everyone with a B48-B58. Also for 20 bucks it's hard to go wrong...
If it doesn't work, well, the only other options are an ECU flash tune or a piggyback that can take care of the CEL like a JB4...

I installed the right angle extender and it worked for the first 1500 miles or so, then it started popping CEL’s.

Unfortunaly I was to quick to order my downpipe so I didnt get the extra o2 bung.... but it shouldnt matter anyway if Im right, the downpipe should do no harm to the engine from what Ive heard of..right
