BMW Fxx/Gxx B58 OBD Flashing is now supported by mFlasher

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
We are happy to announce that after months of improving OBD flashing capability of our in-house tool, mFlasher, we are ready to publicly release this option for all of our customers. We had ability to flash the MG1 computers over OBD since later 2017, but initial flash took a long time, upwards of 1 hour, making it a non-viable solution for "Do It At Home" customers. Now, after countless hours of development, burnt computers and a lot of coffee, we can perform initial unlock on ALL MG1 computers within 5 minutes. After the initial unlock, all subsequent flashes take only 1 minute.

Another reason we had to delay the tool release was due to the fact that California smog systems were getting early 2018 updates that resulted in any modified computer to fail smog. That was a major setback, so we had to go back to drawing board and postpone the release until a solution could be found. Now, with our latest mFlasher release, this is no longer an issue.

We will have dyno graphs posted very soon for all of you, but expect B58 to receive very similar treatment as did the N55 family. Full burnout mode, burble, safe levels of torque, sport gauge calibration, map sensor upgrades and so on. The modified file will be undetectable by BMW, thanks to our mBoot option and its ability to freeze the Flash Counter in time.

For all of you Apple users out there. We realize that mFlasher has been a hard tool for you to use since it requires an actual windows laptop. This for sure has caused some un-needed hustle trying to get one just to flash your car. This is why we are in finishing stages of releasing our iOS app for iPhone. During initial release, this app will allow flashing your vehicles right from your iPhone. With the following updates, you will be able to datalog, diagnose and perform many more cool functions right from your phone.

Be interesting to see what people with MPPSK get and how it feels.
Would love more pops and bangs haha

Yeah exactly bang on about the MPPSK, I am curious myself tbh If it works alongside it then I'm all in, especially if it can make more bangs or so, but mainly make it so you can pop and bang in Neutral too without having to be stationary (stupid requirement)

Why would you be in neutral and moving, then, also wanting it to pop?

If your moving, just make it pop in gear. If your stationary, make it pop in neutral?

How does the detect-ability of this tune compare to others like bm3? I have a long while left on my warranty and while I understand the risks here I don't want to give BMW a reason to void my warranty for something on related.

It will be a whole new file... the tune part of MPPSK will be pointless once flashed. It wouldnt be necessary (unless whoever writes the flash looks at MPPSK files for direction). Much different than JB4 which relies on existing code to operate.

So you can coast along in traffic and rev-pop without shooting forwards and smashing into the car in front.

In a manual I'd just put the foot on the clutch to rev up but this doesn't allow that.

Exactly this! When you wanna drive up beside a friend and instead of honking at them, catch their attention by revving a bit without being a hundred feet ahead..

BTW, when will this be released officially to the public? Also, how do you go about logging with your system - do you have logging capabilities?

It's nearly ready for public i spoke to him over the phone yesterday for more information. Hopefully we can get a dyno graph with a before/after.

Tool has officially been released, and we will have dyno sheets posted in around a week or so.

Datalogging will be a feature on our IOS app that will be coming out in about a month or 2.

Unfortunately we do not have android plans yet. Most of our customers with iPhones also seem to have MAC laptops, so they had a hard time using our mFlasher since it's windows only program. This is why we had to go into iOS app development.
