DIY Universal front lip on regular sportline bumper

I wanted some sort of splitter for my non-msport bumper and came across this lip on ebay. I got it, dremeled out where the under bumper clips are , sanded and painted it, then screwed it in place. Results are ok, there's obviously not much meat at all sticking out from middle as I would've liked. I do know there's a lip for this style bumper but i don't like how it wraps around a lot of the bottom of the bumper so I wanted to try this more subtle one out. Here are the results.

I ordered this lip, but should I color match it Melbourne red or paint it gloss black?

Would it have been possible to mount it pushed forward about an inch or so? I've been looking for a subtle lip like this.

No it wasn't
😔
I screwed it on as far forward as I could. Maybe it could be done with a lip that has more width to it.
I'm going to get the other lip I posted above color matched red.
