Advice on swapping 440i
What would you do ?
I currently have a 2019 440i GC with 7K miles. Has Apple CarPlay I really want to fit a new exhaust system but having a OPF, RES,CAT doesn't play well. The best I can do with REMUS backbox and a possible RES delete at a cost of £1100 I then found a 2018 440i GC with 21K miles, which has MPPK. But has no Apple CarPlay and also cream leather which I'm not 100% sold on Anyway I can swap cars with me sending £1200 their way So do I buy a older car but has MPPK ? Not sure what to do now |

It seems a bit wild to pay £1200 for a car which should be worth less than your current 440i - just for the sound. Shouldn't he be sending you £1200? Is it because you want the open valve sound and have the flexibility to drive quietly, or you just prefer the mppsk sound?

In that case I would definitely go for Remus and enjoy the rest of your higher valued car!
Have you considered a downpipe option? I had mine done and it made the car significantly louder/raspier - great sound overall.

I think that doesn't work on a 2019 model or does it ?

oh really? I thought a downpipe could always be changed. That really sucks then. Perhaps someone else can clarify

You will swap cars, pay £1200 and when the prices eventually sort themselves out you will be twice or thrice that out of pocket and have an older car to boot... Whoever you’ve struck a deal with to swap for £1200 must be rubbing their hands together. Don’t be silly. |

Downpipe can be changed but not without a remap as the downpipe for the OPF cars is slightly different and looks like it has another sensor running down it.

The MPPSK is epic but not this epic. Keep your car OP or go for the M440i. Forwards never backwards.

Have I missed something here? Cant you add the MPPSK to a 2019 440i?

I'd swerve that swap too. I've got a 2019 f31 340i with a Remus backbox. Couldn't tell you the difference over standard as it came with the car. Sounds similar to my 2016 m235i, I've had people comment on it so it's plenty loud enough for me.
I also test drove a 66 reg 340i with MPPSK, it's raspier and louder than the Remus. |

Looks good. How is BMW warranty with that box ? I called them and they didn't have a clue I'm learning towards the remus as it looks quite OEM and doesn't mess with OPF |

I asked the dealer I when I got it and he said there shouldn't be any issues. How true that is I don't know.
