So maybe try bumping up the value of EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS to a larger value. I'm currently at 0x28 (4cm). Maybe you can make it go back to the default value 0x3c (6cm). Too much, though, and the feature will disable (if you encroach within the off-limits area). Let us all know if that works.

I would like the seat to move more forward when I start the engine, but haven't been able to figure that out. I tried setting the memory seat position thinking it works by going back to M#1 position when the engine starts, but it doesn't appear to.
SquidlyBoy,

Finally got around to make an adjustment. Wanted to get seat back so that the outside lumbar support is behind the door post, but not too far that it either inactivates thie REALLY GREAT feature or I can't reach clutch to start car (since I'm only 5' 11").

I ended up changing EAH__VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHY to 00,37 which is 55mm -- works great for me

I am little confused by these comments. They seem contradictory. Do the seats move forward when you enter the car and turn on the engine?

i think you missed one word ... it moves forward, but not as far forward as i would like it, so i have to manually adjust the seat a little bit more to get it to where i want it.

LOL!! Sorry man. So the seats dont move all the way forward to the memory position?? So you have the manually hold the seat memory button to get the seats to move back to the driving position?

it doesn't appear to move all the way to the memory position that I set it to, but maybe that's just my perception. but to me, its just a small nit pick thing given this super cool feature that was unlocked!

One of my top 5 fave/coolest "hidden" coding features IMO...

On my 435 it seems to be going back to the memory position that I had programmed when I shut the door.

Was someone able to make it also work for the passenger seat? I guess that this needs to be done in SM2(e6) module but there is no option to change the EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE to MODUS_FA_SLV

And I think that the FA stands for Fahrer (driver) and there should be an BF for Beifahrer (co-driver).

To answer my own question I set EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE in the SM2 (6e) module to werte=03 and now the passenger seat also returns to the last position.

That's great! Can you please post the exact code you changed?

This is how I coded it, both my wife and I are 5"7 so you have to change the values what works best for your height.

In the SM2 (6d) module:
3000 SM_GLOBAL -> EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE = Modus_FA_SLV
3012 EAH -> EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 64
3012 EAH -> EAH_SCHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 00

In the SM2 (6e) module:
3000 SM_GLOBAL -> EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE = UKNOWN, WERTE=03
3012 EAH -> EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 64
3012 EAH -> EAH_SCHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 00

I have a May build of 2013 and could not get it to work. Plus the CAFD files are missing on mine such as 2 SM2 (6d and 6e)- mine only had 1 SM.

So you set your seat memory to #1 and then you set a parameter of how far back you'd like it to go, when you turn off the car it moves back and stays back till you turn it back on so its easy to get in and out? Is this the jist of it?

Kromix,

That's about right; take a look at my post above (#23) for an idea of how far back

Hope that helps!

I had a quirk with the memory seat settings not restoring properly once the car was started. My wife shut off the engine and got out of the car with the settings for her profile and the seat moved back for egress, but she did not lock the car. I got in with my fob and when I started the car, the seat returned to her memory settings. So, it seems that the car must be locked with the active fob and then unlocked with the other fob for the respective profile seat memory to activate.

When engine turns off and door is opened my seat goes all the way back to the end of the rail since I don't use the back seats, and when door is closed the seat goes to M1/2 (depends on profile setting). from there I can clutch and start engine.

Thought I would bump this post just because of how awesome this feature is. Thanks squidlyboy

I can confirm that this does in fact work in my 2016 340i and exactly how you would expect it to! Seat goes back when engine is turned off and door is opened and seat goes back to memory when the ignition is turned on or when the engine is started!

This is awesome!

Fellas... I just can't get this to work all the way.

If I get out of the car, push the "back" button on the top of the seat to move it back, it then moves forward to the correct position when I get back in the car and shut the door.

But I can't for the life of me get it to move the seat back automatically when I shut off the car.

I've coded it as such:

In the SM2 (6d) module:
3000 SM_GLOBAL -> EINAUSSTIEGSHILFE = Modus_FA_SLV
3012 -> EAH_VERFAHRWEG_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 28
3012 -> EAH_SCHUTZFREIRAUM_HINTEN_SLV_PHYS = Werte=00, 3C

I'm only 5'10" so these entries should suffice, yes?

I've browsed so many of these threads here and on other sites for hours to no avail.

Does anyone else have any ideas?
