You can add a new service without deleting anything however the services will not show up in the right chronological order

I've just updated my services and done as discussed about and it's worked a treat!! When it comes to my next service, I will have to add all the services in again starting with the oldest so it's shows the most recent at the top, correct? Just so I'm clear for next time.. Getting the hang of this now, I think

Yes, that's correct.

If you get anything wrong you can always clear everything and start again.

Just be aware that any time the car is updated at a BMW dealer the idrive will be cleared and the history recorded on the BMW system will be loaded. But I think that's all explained in depth earlier in this thread.

Okay, good. I understand now. A bit long winded but my mild OCD prevents me from having it any other way.

I will keep the car out of the dealer as much as I can. I work in a crash repair centre so it will probably never need to go there but I've read up on that so am aware. Cheers for your help mate. Really appreciate it.

Hey chaps, I'm trying to write the service history in my HU NBT Evo and I'm struggling to get the correct date set. When I select the date as described in the earlier posts (e.g. 14/07/2021), the system automatically changes it to 7/14/2021. Also, when writing the entry in the HU, for the date I get the --.--.---- text displayed on the sat nav. Any ideas?

Thanks for sharing the link

I removed all infos then completed and added more (independant dealer oil service from earlier) and the fuel filter I did replaced this week

Don't get it if it would be automatically deleted on next BMW oil service as soon as they add infos of service trough ISTA or only if they do some update firmware, software etc... ?

Sounds like the ediabas files are in the wrong place. Check the batch file and that everything matches up

Help HU-Service Manager

used HU-Service Manager about 18months ago when car was last serviced worked fine updated time/date and service parts carried out.

went to update it today and its input the wrong mileage even though i correctly entered it in the field and i now have tried to wrote to the HU twice so i have 2 wrong entries on my idrive service history.

1. can anyone tell what i might be doing wrong?

2. how can i remove both wrong entries and replace only these without deleting entire service history record as some of the previous ones are from the BMW dealer

You can only clear the entire history, not individual entries

I seem to remember you have to enter the mileage in km, even though the idrive displays it in miles

I took the car to BMW and lost couple of services as they must of been added on with this software. It would be great if we could add them to the server too. I know some garages are approved and have a log in for it. Not sure if anyone can do ones that are back dated. I'm going to do this for now anyway and add a video.

Thumbs up Bmw hu-service manager

Hi,

Reading many posts about the software you can download (freely on the web) HU Service Manager Lite, and the problems some people are having with deleted service records after use......

Tip....

Down load the software, ensure you have java's latest software on your computer too...

Use the HU manager software as is explained very well on the downloads pages...

Detect your vehicle once you've written the service history to the Hu Service manager, if it states error detecting, try again. Sometimes it's just the wifi and computer software that stops it being recognised. I've used personal mobile hotspots before to connect my laptop with my mobile phone....

Then write it to your car...

When the software states it's done, and the infortainment screen reboots automatically, switch off your engine which should be in standby (i.e. start button pressed but no ignition)

whilst sat in you car, LOCK IT with the remote and wait a few seconds....

Then start you car and the service history will show as it should....

For those people who have lost service history after completing the HU Mnagaer update ...... the last few steps , i.e switching off and locking will allow the unit to save the download......

Troubles over and you can stop worring about lost service history.....

Second tip..... For some cars (more fancy ones keyless entry etc) you will have to switch off you car once downloaded the servicing to the unit DON'T PRESS ANY OTHER BUTTONS OTHER THAN TO TURN YOUR CARS STANDBY OFF, get out of the car and lock it with the fob, then walk away from the car out of range.. Wait a few minutes before you approach and get back in to see you vehicle status update.

Hope this helps.....
