2012 Audi A7 Prestige: $25k - 70k miles
2014 BMW 335i GT: $24k - 60k miles Both have around 300 hp, both have 4 frameless doors, hatchbacks, coupe roofline. I get that the 5/6 GT is technically the correct competitor to the A7 now days, but actually due to the longer wheel base they are only 5 inches apart in length and very close in wheelbase. Now days on the used market they are similar costs. Which would you rather buy? A7 is sexy but I imagine GT would be more sporty to drive due to availability of dynamic dampers, RWD chassis, and slightly lower weight. I found one example of each a few hundred miles away and not sure which route to go. Love BMWs but the Audi is certainly good looking. (so far only found one local GT to test drive and no A7, GT was a base 328i with no DHP but I liked it even still) Last edited by danperson1; 12-03-2018 at 01:43 PM.. |

Ok the audi a7 looks miles better than(a non msport f34 with std wheels). The F34 with the right colour and wheels and spec can rival an a7 but if you want performance with utility f34 has to win hands down. I cannot compare the 2 and if you are considering the 2 then utility is perhaps not important to you.

The A7 has depreciated a lot more than the GT. That says something.

Utility is important but coming from an E92 they will both be relatively more practical then what I am used to. My main concern is driving dynamics and while the A7 is a lower center of gravity, it is still an Audi with a transversely mounted engine which to me is inherently less sporty. I am hoping that the F34 with adaptive dampers and it's 50-50 weight distribution and lower weight would make up for the higher center of gravity and slightly reduced universal design acclaim. |

Ive never driven an audi so would not really know. I once had a petrol VW golf and from year 3 on alternator fail to timing chain snapping it had one issue after another cost me a lot of money so promised myself i would never buy a vw audi group vehicle.
. Utility was paramount for me with 3 kids in the backseat and a buggy in the boot. Its sporty enough when compared to an SUV which was my only other alternative. I test drove three f34's before finally buying the 4th one i test drove so that's my message to you. Test drive the cars in your shortlist more than once before you buy. |
