Storing Winter Wheels
Evening all,
I've always used a wheel stand to stack my winter tyres. This year I need a new rack since my new tyres will not fit the existing stand and it's got me thinking, that I could build a stand/dolly, since I have tons of spare wood and plywood. What's people view on stacking complete wheels on top of each other? My local garage and a few websites, says it fine. |

Thanks all. I'll make some base so they are off the ground. Do you guys rotate the wheels around? Otherwise the bottom wheel is taking the weight for 3/4 of the year.

I rotate mine, share the weight over the months, used to be recommended by some of the tyre companies. |

How about hanging them from the garage roof with a stout pole through the wheel centres?
I have room to do that rather than stacking them and it will place no weight on the tyres. Thoughts please

Thanks all. Built my stand tonight. Wheels stacked and covered.
MrWinterWheels gave me some tyre bags, I'll use them once I switch my summers out. |

Why should stacking be an issue?
