330d touring mods - future planning for PCP.

Hi All,

Currently a year into a PCP agreement with my 330d Touring mSport+ and planning ahead, as i do, i'm trying to quantify whether i want to keep the car at the end.

I threw the MPPSK on it pretty quickly as i think that really adds some character to the look, however i've also probably seen too many videos of 340i Touring with the MPPSK and that exhaust note is heavenly and it made me wonder whether i should just swap to one of those at the end of the lease (Like for like spec, just the 340 instead of 330d).

I also noticed that there is an M Performance Exhaust available for the 330d, which may alleviate my lust for a half decent exhaust note and wondered whether anyone has this fitted (for 330d) and can give an honest opinion as it's not a cheap mod...

I realise it will never sound like the 340i, however getting something better than the stock exhaust note of...nothing would probably sway me to keeping it post-PCP as i want to throw the carbon interior on too however don't want to spank a load of money on the car if i'm going to lose it all at hand-in time and after getting a dog and numerous house moves, the Touring size achieves it whilst still looking amazing and the temptation to do silly speeds in an M140i or M2 (my original next choice) is too much - after owning a MK7 Golf R i know the feeling all too well and can't be dealing with the inevitable "Hope there wasn't a mobile camera hiding back there" panic that ensues for a few hours after getting carried away

Strange ask, but any input valued!

Thanks.

You won't get a decent exhaust sound from a diesel, even if you remove the silencer completely. It will sound a little bit deeper with a sports exhaust, but inside the car you still won't be able to hear it so primarily this mod on a diesel is about the aesthetics.

The other option is to buy a sound module, like this one, that fakes the outside exhaust sound using a speaker.

Sounds like a daft idea, I know, but we've sold a few and the customers that have bought them love them!

The 340i sounds great and is faster of course but obviously you'll pay the price in fuel consumption.
