Where are my little hooks in the boot!?

My old car had them, and they were a tiny but incredibly useful little thing - perfect for hanging your shopping bag on to stop the contents falling out.

Don't tell me I needed some stupidly expensive option like extended storage just to get two 50p plastic hooks

Don't suppose there is an easy way to retrofit them, or something similar?

On the 4 series I tried, they were hidden, and "rotate" into appearance.

If you didn't specify the extended storage pack then you don't get them.

Get 2 of the following from the parts department:

Description: Hook
Code: 51 47 7 258 562
Price: about £2 each

The side panels are the same regardless of whether you have extended storage or not, so the holes should already be there or at least marked out so they just need drilling.

The rotating ones are the coat hanger hooks in the cabin.

OP is talking about the shopping bag hooks in the boot

At least I'm not the only one to think these hooks are a god send for the reasons mentioned above. Presumably if you have the floor net thing the hooks are part of that package.

Extended storage - £155.

Thats one hundred and fifty five pounds

Quote:
Extended storage package provides a range of practical additional storage options, making the transportation of cargo even more secure. Furthermore, a 12V power socket in the rear tunnel console and a 12V power socket on the right of the luggage compartment offer additional electrical connection options. The compartments in the interior include a hinged compartment on the driver's side of the instrument panel, nets in the rear on the back of the front-seat backrests, as well as two hooks for bags. An additional storage net and a fastening strap ensure that the luggage compartment remains tidy. The package also includes a versatile net that can be spread out across the luggage compartment floor, for example, as well as a segmented storage tray beneath the luggage
that seems really silly money even for BMW for a couple of 12v chargers and some net.

for reference, thats the same price as a heated steering wheel

Fondly referred to in my neck of the woods as Curry Hooks.

I didn't opt for Extended Storage, oops.

Missed this off my current build... I do miss my little hinged door compartment on the drivers side dash. Fuel card, bits of paper etc. now they wallow about in my central armrest thing.

Not quite £155 missed. But I do miss it. Heated seats won.

£30k+ car, what's £155? Arguably BMW UK should have it as standard spec but we all know they'd just bump the price up of it was so it is nice to have the choice.

at some point you have a budget cap. Would you rather have a heated steering wheel or full black panel display, or two plastic hooks and a couple of extra 12v sockets? One of those seems very overpriced to me.

For the sake of £2 which is apparantly what they cost from the parts dept, they should just include them - its those little touches that people appreciate.

Oh shoot! Just bought two of these hooks (51477258562) as referenced earlier in the thread, not realising the OP has an F30, not an F32.

Will these still fit my F32? I'm struggling to find a picture of where they locate.

Any info appreciated!

Thanks for that. F32 boot is significantly different though I think. Interesting that your hooks are a different design to the ones I purchased. Anyone confirm what the F32 hooks look like and where they fit? Realoem hasn't helped!

Cheers

My two F30's had them and they are very handy!

On the 5 series you only get one on the left hand side of the boot, right hand side is bare.

I called my sales guy and said one was missing, he checked and said they only get one.

Get this, he then gave me one for free. Get the fuck out of here I thought, something for free

Spend $130K on a new car and get a $2 hook for free!
