Easy way to tell if car has EDC?

Hi, I've done some digging but I didn't really come across an answer to this question-

just purchased an EWG F30 335 w/ xdrive and the Msport package but I am trying to determine if the car has EDC or not so I can order the correct coilovers.

I have done a VIN decoder and it just shows the msport option. Correct me if I'm wrong but the EDC was an additional option on top of the msport package from factory, therefore even if the car had it, it would just be included in "msport" on the VIN?

I'm not sure if this means anything but when switching between modes the car shows that it is adapting engine and the chassis for comfort, sport, etc.
I am brand new to this platform, thank you for all the help!

First - welcome!

Two things to try ...

a. When switching from Comfort to Sport mode, does the suspension feel markedly stiffer?

b. The option code for M Adaptive suspension is 2VF. Is it listed?

c. Turn one of the front wheels and look for a connector which plugs in the front shock

Thanks for the welcome!

Did not see the option code on mdecoder.

Upon visual inspection I do not believe I saw any electrical cables running to the front shocks.

Getting my windshield replaced by safelite right now (had a nasty rock hit the windshield on my drive home from NJ where I purchased the car) but afterwards I will check the stiffness/feeling of the suspension in the different drive modes.

Thanks

Another easy way to look if you have it is to look at the rear shocks from behind the car (just get on hands and knees). You should see a large nub (the solenoid protrusion) coming off of the shock with a wire plugged into it.

d. Usually with EDC/Adaptive Suspension the Nav screen may also show the driving modes that include steering, engine, and suspension... as well as options to turn on/off per ECO/Comfort/Sport/Sport+

Can 100% confirm I do not see anything coming from the rear shocks. Thanks so much for your help

There is always some good news in these situations. Vehicles with non EDC suspensions have many more coilover options and if and when you decide to upgrade the suspension, you will find plenty of choices in every price range.

So true, I was actually hoping it didn't when I started this investigation. Haha
