no problem on fitment. You just need to be super strong to push it into the throttle body while someone else put that metal clip into place.

Thats definitely not a wear and tear item. Are they on drugs. I will call NA bmw and fight this shit as you are all stock. BUT is not worth it for CP as you can get a better one for less, just to be sure they dont screw you for a future warranty work on something else.
The VRSF CP doesnt have any fitment issues and is the best price out there. Its is pipe, no need to pay more for the same on ER.

Sorry for the crappy experience but thankfully you are a relatively easy fix.

I on the other hand wont be driving my car for a week.. literally. I have roughly 600 miles left on my warranty and after a full inspection by my independent shop, have a laundry list of little things for the dealer to fix. The earliest date possible? A week out... no driving for me! *laugh*
Select date on speedometer and take picture showing date and speedometer.

Send pic to Dealership with laundry list of issues - stating these are issues while still in warranty and as you are documenting the issues and they cannot take your car in for a week, you want them coverered.

Perhaps even post here (and do not edit) for third party documentation and date/time stamp.

Appreciate all the advice guys. Dealer just called and said they "spoke to BMW NA and they will offer Goodwill Assistance so you will only be responsible for $75"......nice change from the initial $755 quote....

Gonna have them replace it just so I can drive the car again, but will def be going aftermarket in the near future now.

Get them to give you new OEM charge pipe uninstalled.

Purchase aftermarket ChargePipe...many options listed above.

Have them install aftermarket Chargepipe instead. Labor half of that earlier $755 quote.

Sell new OEM 13717604033 Chargepipe on eBay. Over the last 45 days, they have sold for $239 to $320.

No reason to install another crappy plastic one which will most likely fail again at some point in future.

And who would go buy another plastic one when you can get a metal one for that much or less? Maybe I should put mine up for sale.

That's what i did, had dealer install ER CP and give me the new BMW CP. Have it here somewhere in the garage, brand new.

If not get the VRSF for $225 i think and do it yourself.

Normal wear and tear item!??? What kind of bullshit is that !? In that case the whole car is wear and tear! I can see wipers tires and brakes but the charge pipe!? I'm pretty sure the average BMW owner doesn't even know what a charge pipe is. I would definitely try another dealer.

I may consider the metal pipe post warranty period unless BMW revises the charge pipe and starts selling an improved OEM version.
I wouldn’t keep oem pipe, too worried the engine might eat plastic bits when it breaks. I changed my non damaged CP to an aftermarket metal one just for safety and peace of mind.

Ditto. The peace of mind is so worth the out-of-pocket costs and skinned knuckles.

How many track days do you have on the car at this point ? You should come to a Tarheel event at VIR!

Aftermarket is better.. absolutely do that.. if anyone wants an OEM pipe as a backup or worried about warranty, give me a shout as I have a spare.

And you really think that’s going to happen this close to the end of the lifecycle?

The CP for your 335i is only still used on the M2, X3 and X4. Not even used on the F30 any longer.

Reasons not to wait can be read in @Lancelot’s reply to you above.
