I think it's twin may be the better car.

It's sounds an expensive alternative to the M240i vert.

I think the Toyota looks the more exciting car. There's another Z4 review just up and it's interesting as it shows a real close up (skip to about 5 mins in on the video) of the exhaust tips and valves on the M40i which is what I'm imagining will be very similar on the G20 M340i (?)

Yeah agree, also the reviews suggest it is not the sports car that BMW promised

I can genuinely see this being my next car in 2 years when i chop in my 4.

I do miss my E85 Z4.... and wasnt keen on the E89.

I would prefer a coupe over a roadster - doubt they will ever come out with one - and dont want a Supra - had a celica, GT86 - and scoobies - feel like i am past that now!

I think BMW missed a trick with this. Should have produced a lightweight folding hard top version.

Personally I wouldnt want a hard top.... Too much space is lost in the boot with the roof down.

One reason i never got an E89. Weekends away you'd struggle with a couple of duffel bags if you plan to have the roof down.

Its not like the soft top is noisy/ cold... only concern really would be someone slashing the roof.... but then could cause more damage keying the car if they wanted.

A bit underwhelming to my mind. It doesn't look like a BMW, to me.

I suppose we are all different. I wouldn't buy a soft top. Had 3 generations of SLK and have managed with boot space. After all they can only take two people.

You have to be mad to not pick a 718 Boxster over this or utterly hate that cars engine.

If you're not wanting the B58 I agree. But I've driven a Cayman S with the 2.5 flat four and its a soulless thing.

So have I, it wasn't issue for me as the car so damn good.

But then again I have an S55 so the bar is low in terms of sound.

I was going to say I miss the old Z4 coupe - until I saw the review of the Supra in Autocar. Its literally a Z4 hard top - right down to BMW switchgear and idrive!
