Airbag control unit module removal

I need to take the module in to be reset after I replaced the blown airbags. On older models the airbag control unit is located behind the rear passenger air vents under the center armrest. I removed the air vents in my F30 and it is nowhere to be found. Can someone please point out where it is located, or if it even needs to be removed to clear the fault code in order to start the car.

Thanks

It's saying there's a fault in the airbag or seat belt tensioner, please visit nearest service center.

I'm being told it doesn't need to be removed, i'll have an airbag professional reset it for me without taking it out.

Why don't you try clearing the code with Tool32 before anything else?

I'll try that, thanks... although after visiting the dealer I'm being told that after an airbag is blown, the car will not start until the positive Battery Safety Terminal is replaced, so I'm gonna try that next.

You're probably looking for the ICM, it's right beside the e-brake underneath the center console and the plug can be accessed through the e-brake boot. If you need to remove or replace the module, you probably need to remove the center console to gain access.

Check this thread for discussion on how to access the ICM:
