Reasons NOT to get MPPSK for 340i?
Having read a lot of threads about the 340i MPPSK I think I may be succumbing to the forum disease of wanting one too. I wonder if anyone can help me identify some reasons why I SHOULDN'T get one?
This is what I've come up with so far: 1. I don't live near any Alpine tunnels. 2. The drone at motorway speeds might get annoying. 3. I don't live near Reading. 4. I don't want to deafen the neighbours/draw attention to myself the whole time. 5. I already have black exhaust tips and so am not fussed about CF. 6. It will mean giving more money to my insurer. 7. I don't need the extra power. Oh, hang on... Any therapeutic help appreciated.

1)buying a tuning box will give you more power and save money in your pocket
A guy here got a Rebellion tuning box and made 400+ . Rebellion does alot of A45amg's and those are seriously quick. i think the box cost £500 and if u remove it no dealer knows you have it on. |

I would probably add:
I am older than 17 and might find the gunshot noises on the overrun a little embarrassing. No argument about adding the power upgrade though, but I would find someone else who wants the exhaust part and split the kit. I am in my 40s though so perhaps I'm past it! |

This is an anti post as what you're after is some persuasion to buy one

Haha well being in a similar boat I would say you are on a very slippery slope..
Since the tuning box the extra oomph has helped me not buying one but I really want a bit more noise. However as the 340 is also the family wagon for long distances I have to think how it will go down after 3 hrs on a motorway etc. If it was just my car then a no brainer and THEN a tuning box on top |

And delete point 4, and 6. The start up sound in comfort is not that much noisier and my insurance did not go up even though I declared both the exhaust and the increase in power.

£2000 is a big reason not to get it fitted, I think the 340 sounds good with a stock exhaust and how much extra power do you get? Is it worth £2000?

There is No reason, best £1900 smiles per miles that I have spent in the last couple of years. I take the long way round all the time👍 Not too bad on the mpg, just filling up more, due to driving more.
Anyone undecided, just do it, or beg\steal a ride in one that has had it done, you will be getting the wallet out. |

I hear lots of people talking about the drone at motorway speeds. It's not an issue for me.
Stick it is comfort and problem solved, you don't need sport mode if cruising. Same with the neighbours, when I come home late/leave early I just put it in comfort. The rest of the time it's Sport all the way. Other reasons not to do it? None!

With that list seems like the kit is not for you. I love my MPPSK and can tell you there is no drone on the highway in comfort/eco, little to no gunshot noises in comfort/eco and you can't split the kit to have only the tune. When the dealer (only one who can install the tune) installs your kit they will install both.

My wife already says I sound like a boy racer when I reverse on the drive in Sport+ mode.
'S' bit is not for me.
