My balloon with Clydesdale was almost identical to the Porsche figure. They have some flexibility and with a list of options fitted they can increase the final payment. They still set relatively low but that means at the end most of the deposit will come back which news and my deposit was pretty big.

Sorry only picked up this thread late. Spent the last week driving my 6 week old Macan S to and around North and Mid Wales. Replaced a F31 320D.
Massive difference in build and interior quality and obviously refinement and ride due to air suspension and no run-flats. the Macan drives like a big powerful go-cart. Expected to miss HUD I had on 320 D but now used to driving without it and relying on the Macan's MFD screen. not missing I d Drive. The Online google search in the Macan works far better and quicker than the equivalent in my 2014 F31. Chose Macan over X3 as X3 just a bit too big for my taste and Macan had the availability of Air Suspension which makes a difference in improving ride quality. Loving the PDK double-clutch gearbox of the Macan even over the BMW recent autos. |

They aren't cheap that's for sure..
I will add one of these into the mix.. https://www.stratstone.com/new-cars/...o-offer/11423/ in the HSE spec they have more than enough kit, £2500 less deposit and £80 less a month over my spec Macan.. Quite a different proposition but a pretty nice one at that! GBR1 |

So I have been looking at a few other brands etc. Still not had a drive in a X3 40i/D but local BMW are trying to arrange one. All my quotes have been on 48month pcp at 10000 mile p/a
LR Discovery HSE, current deals are list (with some options) £63700, discount £9300. £2k down and then £817p/m VW Touareg R line... List (with some extras) £62155, discount £8573. £2K down and then £725 p/m Bottom line is all these cars are in the same ballpark, where Porsche differs is the GFV is much higher and zero discount. everyone else has low GFV and compensates by giving big discounts. Nothing we didn't really know but all food for thought. GBR1 |

And as pleasant as the Touareg is, 725 a month is a lot for a VW. |

I'm not knocking them btw Have you looked at the RRS? If you can live with X3 space, then the RRS has a load more but not as much as, and not as family or off-road orientated, as the Disco. When I was looking, a RRS HSE Dynamic PHEV or SDV6 was same cost ballpark as the Disco HSE Lux SDV6 that I ordered. That PHEV is a great drivetrain if you do a lot of urban miles. I'm guessing from list + options at £63.7k you are talking about a 4-cylinder Disco, which means the 4-cylinder part of the PHEV equation would work for you. ETA - I see you did consider a RRS up-thread, and I even responded...i'm going senile!

Yeah, that was my point. 911 is not shared. I already know about the others. A Rolls Royce uses a BMW platform, does that mean it’s not a real Rolls Royce? Do I point out to the owner of one that he’s driving a 7 series underneath and it’s actually a BMW? He ain’t going to give a turd and neither do I because there is more to it. What is a real manufacturer in 2019? The motor industry is about cross sharing platforms and tech now within large groups eg. VW group, BMW etc. That doesn’t mean it’s not real, It’s their way to make themselves survive and make more money. That doesn’t make it bad or not “real” as you say, imagine how crap a Rolls in house sat nav would be on a 300k phantom. A brand is not just about standalone models anymore. It’s just the way it is in modern times. I mean is a 7 series not a true bmw because even a mini uses basically the same tech for say their sat nav as well? Majority of people don’t care. Just get whatever makes you happy! Whatever the car! Whether it’s a i3 or a Audi q8! I mean a Lamborghini Urus. Last edited by takumichinoku; 06-21-2019 at 07:19 PM.. |
