Iv got a Huawei P9 lite. No match for the new P20 but I like it alot. Came from Samsung so wasn't taken at first but now I think they are great phones.

I wouldn't say "by far". It's competitors still perform really well, and in some instances outperform it in the camera dept.

If we are talking numbers then it wins, but actual results are a different story from paper.

Like I said, on paper it has the numbers. The DXO Mark is still on paper.

Have a look for yourself with like-for-like comparisons on YouTube amongst a few reviewers, it's not as clear cut as even the DXO Mark.

I do have X 64 Gb , S9 plus 128 GB and last month P20 was added to that list. I can tell you that P20 is simply better in every category not only Camera. DXOMARK is deffo more trusted source/body than paid YT content creators (I am on of of them)

Fair enough.

I will maintain that it's still not that clear cut. I know 3 people personally who own the P20 Pro and the Pixel 2, and all 3 of them say the Pixel camera is a better all rounder. And they are not paid.

I've been using an old Galaxy Note 3 for what seems since 1970. Still does what i need although it been scraped, dropped, kicked, rained on etc... However I can only get android 5 on it and need to use minimum of 6.0 to use work related software. So I bought a Huawei P Smart payg for 169 gbp to drop my 02 sim in. Still with Royal Mail awaiting collection so can't comment, but read about the leaps of budget devices by the likes of LG, Huawei, Honor, Nokia and Sony.

Side note - wouldn't go buy a huawei phone now they are no longer going to be suported by google updates a year down line
