Cold Start too loud...

Hey guys,

I have an N26 engine with an AWE Midpipe, AWE Axle Back Exhaust, and ER Catted Downpipe; and the cold starts are way too loud for my liking.

I was wondering if putting back in the stock downpipe will quieten it; or if it's more of the midpipe and/or exhaust.

Thanks

My friend, you need bm3 in your life lol.. That was my loudness fix and I have the same/similar setup as you. I did go back to stock dp (for warranty work), it helped but not much. Its mostly the exhaust itself and midpipe

Think you need to get the ECU flashed... it's not as simple as coding. That has potential warranty implications if that matters to someone...

Once my warranty is over and if I still have the car, I'll get a BM3 stat.

Hi there, sorry to dig up this thread back to life. I have been running BM3 stage 1 for awhile now and cold start is not that bad but I want to either turn it off or Lower the rpm with bm3 like what everyone say on my research.

Today, I plug in my computer to see if I can do that and I can't find where in software is the cold start on/off is located. I literally click each tab for the cold start function and unable to find it. Is the new BM3 doesn't come with it?

You need to go under my maps tab. Choose the map you want to delete the cold start on and click top right config/modify or something like that. On that page you have settings for burbles etc. Go to coldstart and modify settings there.

Update... found it, I choose to left cold start to ON but change RPM to custom at 900 rpm...tamer cold start.

Now, have a question... there is another setting in there called "exhaust burble setting". What does anyone set into?

I'm stage one running OEM cat. I just left it "Empty"

Totally up to you, and up to how aggressive you want the burbles to be. I have mine pretty maxed out, because I'm a child. Others like no burbles, some prefer somewhere in the middle.

However, with the OEM cat, I'd keep them pretty mild so you don't foul up the cat.

I have no experience with this device, but it has a good reputation.
